New 590a1 Build

Took a 590a1 18.5" Flex tactical, put a 14" barrel, Magpul SGA Stock and Forend on it

Had to dremel out large portions in the interior of the magpul forend to get it to fit on the smaller 14" action slide, it ain't pretty but it works!

Will be a great small bush gun.

Still waiting on a sight, the rear sight is only temporary.

Aridus Industries makes a nice rmr co witness ready mount. Have one one my 590a1 and love it. Would put your sight lower than that Pic rail.

The solution is either remove the rail and run the bead, or keep the rail and mount a dot.

forend doesn't fit? Explain

the action slide is too small for the forend to fit, you need to dremel out the back and front so that the castlenut can thread onto the forend tube.

SBS Mossberg 590 has a shorter pump than regular ones. I also had to dremel the inside of my handguard to fit it on my 14 inch Mossberg.

Is it a difficult mod? How long did it take ya?

Well, like 30-60 minutes if you have a Dremel. I foolishly started with a file first:(

Just take your time and always check the fitting.

She's a beauty. I used the black magpul stock and forend and every time I see it with the fde I think that maybe I should have used fde too.

Love it,  honestly my favourite size of pump shotgun.  I got one but Turkish with a wood stock and it's just wonderful.

Oh damn, at that price i think id just dish out thr extra for a 14" shockwave & throw a stock on it and have 2 guns

I did the same build but with a $400 shockwave I picked up off wolverine supplies. Ended up saving a ton of cash.

yeah starting with a shockwave is the way to go
