Application / Regulation advice Only lock i have for this gun currently

Do you guys see a problem with this?
Below the ejector thingy it opens up to be just wide enough for the lock, i tried yanking it out and it is not moving, wont close either obviously

Here I'll help you out

(i) rendered inoperable by means of a secure locking device,

(ii) rendered inoperable by the removal of the bolt or bolt-carrier, or

(iii) stored in a container, receptacle or room that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into

Which of those 3 things are you doing to this firearm without using a lock? Because you need to do 1 of the 3 for it to be legally stored.

Cool. Read my original comment ya goof. I was referring a trigger lock or cable lock specifically.

Why would a cop care if there is a trigger lock. Or any lock. It’s not required ever on a NR firearm.

Well no, you said any lock. A lock is 100% required to legally store this firearm.

Nope. I can store them in my car. I can store them in any room in my house. I don’t own a single trigger lock. And never have. Once again. I was talking about a lock on the fire arm, which is no required. But keep trying. Lol

Both of those requires a lock on the gun or putting it in a locked case...

Once again. Not true. My vehicle has locks on the doors. And so does my house. Pretty crazy huh.

Neither of those fulfil the legal requirement to store a firearm.

Clearly from Ontario. Lol. I can put my rifle in a sock. And walk to the gun range if I would like to. No lock. No case. Perfectly legal

Bro did you even take the CFSC? It clearly states in the code talking about storing a firearm you MUST have a lock on it, or in a secure room that can’t be easily broken in too. Your bedroom is not a secured room and neither is a car, hence you HAVE to put a lock on it. Two locks of the gun if it’s restricted, as you would learn in the CRFSC class if you opt to take the restricted class.

Non restricted doesn’t require a lock in your car unless your leaving it unsupervised then it requires to be put out of plain site and locked in a truck or hidden ? In your house it requires to be locked in a safe/ or box that’s not easily accessible and sufficient. From what I remember of my pal.
