I think (total speculation) is that the plan is to deliver all the rifles via pre-order into Canada in a single mass shipment, ie all dealers will a ship/release date, where they will ship out all the firearms in a single go.
I believe that the worry from everyone in the firearm community is that if a few Makasi's and Carmel's get a bad rep, the whole thing gets shut down asap. To counter this, a large number of the rifle (talking many many thousands) must get manufactured, clear customs, be held in quiet (even with retailers and suppliers) and then shipped out at once. This allows a) Brigade to manufacture a large number b) Grants the distributor and retailers to sell large volumes and c) Allows as many Canadians to be able to possess these rifles. Such a process will send thousands of packages into circulation overnight, and be sold products upon their departure (which is why I think pre-order was heavily pushed here_
No but i wouldnt be surprised if the amount of QC complaints and brigades response didnt have something to do with it. Same idea when a game gets delayed to work out bugs is my guess but could be wrong
Probably the 16" restricted models though, guys have been privately importing those for several months now. I personally would not want a restricted one and register it with the LPC goons. 2" more barrel and I can use it on crown land AND not tell the LPC about it!
I actually turned in a restricted AR15 and got my money back through the compensation. Not doing restricted anymore, going out and buying something else with that money
I'm against the buy back program but it was the only way to get my moneys worth for the rifle since its banned.
I’ll never buy anything Canadian like Crusader Arms. The fact that it may use AR parts but doesn’t take standard AR mags is already a huge negative for me. Then there’s the question of quality control with these Canadian companies and we'll just leave it at that...
IWI on the other hand, has been producing military service rifles for decades and has proven itself as a company capable of building reliable, high quality combat rifles.
The Makasi MK15 definitely looks cooler and offers more room for upgrades, but at its core the IWI Carmel is a service combat rifle. The Makasi has already had numerous reported issues so for me thats a hard pass and makes my decision pretty easy. My pick is the Carmel 100%.
Thanks, the shop im dealing with told me expected Aug 15th just the other day and then never answered when I asked again if they got them.
How far out are your pre orders sold out I you don't mind me asking? I jumped on day 1 at a shop so pretty sure ill be in the first round, but been wondering how far out some of the later pre orders will be. I imagine guys ordering now are probably looking at a year or so till supply catches up.
They dont give us any etas unfortunately. Just broad terms. Which is why im surprised some dealers were putting out hard dates. That being said theyre far enough away from me that they have a different rep
