Genuine question, is there a Province you can ride around with a trigger locked yet uncase rifle legally? Or is this malt lickey type shit?

I know most of the east coast farmers can carry unlocked rifles for varmint / predator control

The only rule for transport - not left unattended - is unloaded. Trigger lock and case is not required.

I use a case since I load up in my driveway and people dont like to see open carry firearms in a residential area, but if you’re going from a garage or relative privacy you could technically throw an unlocked and unloaded non restricted in you vehicle and take off to the range or crown land.

I feel like this will stir up debate but I’m stating the rules as described on the rcmp website for firearm transport and not necessarily what I do or what most people actually do.

You may also run into the cop that pulls you over not knowing the law and then having to deal with that bullshit. I usually case mine. My dad trigger locks as well, because he knows someone who had that interaction with the police, waiting for the supervisor to show up to tell the constable that she was wrong and let dad's friend go.
