Shooting Tires for spalling protection.

Anyone else try this out? Using an old car tire as a spalling catcher for your steel gongs. Saves the wood of your home-made target boxes thats for sure, I don't think I had any go through even after smacking the gong a couple of times with the .308

any lead retained can be turned into fishing weights

Or if you have bullet or slug or buckshot molds into new bullets.

Or cast black powder rounds. Especially for old peices that they only sell molds for now.
