This sounds hopeful/promising. Thanks to everyone who voiced their concerns in a meaningful way, instead of just crying on Reddit doom & gloom style.

u/GodsGiftToWrenching Aug 17 '26

Wait wait wait, you mean actually reaching out to a company with valid concerns instead of complaining in niche forums to taint the image of a new product en masse, actually yields results? Crazy how that works

Remember kids, the difference between science, and fucking around - is writing things down.

So that’s why Epstein kept all those records.

11

u/Lumindan Aug 17 '26

Well let's not count our chickens until they are hatched.

u/LeeFrann Aug 17 '26

Crusader is run so poorly and with such disgust in their customers, you'd think they were a crown company.

Edit didnt realize this was for the Makasi. but F crusader anyways.

13

u/GodsGiftToWrenching Aug 17 '26

Seriously screw them, me and my homes despise, nay, abhor Cringesader

0

u/DJ_Necrophilia 29d ago

Cringesader

Nailed it. The whole crusades/Templar thing was cool in like 2005, but now its just cringe especially when people act like it makes them edgy and shit

Goes double for spartan helmets and punisher skulls

3

u/GodsGiftToWrenching 29d ago

Thanks hoss, it's the only way I reffer to them now lol. I'm surprised they haven't come out with a Molon Labbe model or some shit yet. Yeah the over use of crusaders (especially when not acknowledging the lore and history and just using the name because it's attention getting) spartan helmets, punisher skull, and the incessant use of red anodized parts was all getting old by 2010 so to be doing that kind of stuff in 2026 is just embarrassing... alot like the boating accident joke

3

u/NIBLZ_HAMSTR 29d ago

Boating accident? What boating accident? Lol

1

u/IcySkyDream 26d ago

Stop insulting my sense of humour. I lost it in a tragic boating accident, along with my M14.

Yapping about absolutely nothing, keep your political religious views somewhere else. Crusader never named the company based on the templars 🤣

2

u/Both-Friendship-9528 27d ago

The fact they still in business and the gun community keeps falling for it amazes me.

28

u/GopherRebellion Aug 17 '26

At least in the promo photo the picatinny rails line up properly.

18

u/Medical_Bluejay_7506 Aug 17 '26

Damn Quebec issues

10

u/GodsGiftToWrenching Aug 17 '26

The Quebec issues we can kind of deal with, it's when the issues go from QC to FLQ, then we gotta be careful with opening the mailed out pre-orders

33

u/Eyeronick Aug 17 '26

Means nothing until they actually do something. This guns been out in the States for a while but NOW they're doing shit? Hmm.

27

u/Big-Guitar-1979 Aug 17 '26

In other words, Canadians are saving their company now.

13

u/Eyeronick Aug 17 '26

This kinda seems like the case, if you're in the States I sure as hell wouldn't be picking this.

20

u/yummybunnybear Aug 17 '26

We Canadians are stuck with garbage from the bottom of the 18" barrel. But I'm hopeful about the Makasi 🤞

5

u/CenturionV 29d ago

If they do even 10% product development to fix these per year, it will still be 10% more than most Turkish firearms manufacturers. It took them like a decade to start sorta using loctite and proper torque on their screws.

11

u/Big-Guitar-1979 Aug 17 '26

Imagine you have thousands of brands to choose from, why TF would someone pick this😂

9

u/Big-Guitar-1979 Aug 17 '26

I guess this is just not an option for most Americans. So no need to upgrade :)

7

u/ExplorerEnjoyer Aug 17 '26

Because no one buys them down there

7

u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Aug 17 '26

Probably because the product is so niche in the US to begin with, whereas in Canada they have zero opponents apart from the IWI.

7

u/Ilikefightsbecause Aug 17 '26

Why would Americans even buy this when they can buy proper ARs?

12

u/Hell-Let-Loose00 Aug 17 '26

US residents have many more options than us. I cannot envision why many would pick this particular rifle as their go-to amongst hundreds of other options.

At least they are acknowledging/fixing before sending out and dealing with QC complaints/returns. I don't mind waiting longer.

1

u/thatregal 28d ago

Because many retailers in America were discounting the 16” version of this rifle to 750-800$ USD

Still not as cheap as some decent options down there but still enticing to some

u/Admirable-Panic-3357 29d ago

I cancelled my pre order for 2 in canada. Not getting them till the new reviews are in.

31

u/CAFirearmSociety Aug 17 '26

The WK 180 gen 2

23

u/shamone94 Aug 17 '26

Worse, Gen 2 templar

none of these people are doing anything but nihilistic speculation.

vast majority of reviews are positive.

7

u/SirKickBan Aug 17 '26

Not really, even the bad reviews mostly just point to relatively small issues. There's one review that claims they couldn't make it fire two rounds in a row without cycling manually for nearly two hundred rounds, but if that were even an uncommon issue it seems unlikely that nobody in the US would have ever mentioned it.

Most of the other issues are either cosmetic or simple to fix, with the worst (IMO) and only non-cosmetic, non-fixable one being picatinny rails that aren't cut to spec and require you to damage the coating in order to properly seat an optic on them, and the next most concerning being the lack of thread locker used to keep screws in place.

We'll see what comes of it soon though, as soon as the NRs start getting into people's hands I have no doubt we'll be flooded with reviews and videos.

8

u/Armedfist Aug 17 '26

How about the eta

3

u/SirKickBan Aug 17 '26

At this point that's out of Brigade's hands (I hope). They should be on this side of the border, and I think they're Gravel's problem now.

1

u/_MlCE_ 26d ago

Mine is delayed. The store hasnt received them yet...

7

u/Equivalent-Shoe-1652 29d ago

Spoke to a a dealer and they said this post was in regards to American QC issues and that the specific NR canadian versions won't have these issues. Whether or not thats true, I guess we will see.

29

u/rastamasta45 Aug 17 '26

I ended up cancelling my pre-order, I’m just going to wait l, while I crave a decent semi 223, seeing some of those photos of the screws through the gas block and the charging handle eating itself on the rail stings all the more when you’re paper weights that you invested so much money on are just sitting there. I can’t accept and downgrade in quality

4

u/Wandering_Canadian_7 Aug 17 '26

The apostrophe in "yours" doesn't inspire confidence.

14

u/stavrogin204 Aug 17 '26

"QC issues? Yeah we're um…taking care of those! In the meantime, keep buying!"

4

u/edyuster Aug 17 '26

I’m more curious as to what feedback they’re going off of for their improvements. Unless the restricted versions are from a really old production batch I highly doubt they had time to manufacture new parts and test it in time for mass production for the Canadian market.

It would really suck to pay 2.5k just to beta test their new version.

6

u/itsmeAG32 Aug 17 '26

If they come out with a 308 pistol I'll get it.

3

u/v-infernalis 29d ago

Stand by?

Or Order now?

Lol

3

u/KATYNBESTDAYOFMYLIFE 29d ago

your's

Not sure if I trust a company that can't do basic grammar

1

u/IcySkyDream 26d ago

Well, they are American, so they can’t do basic spelling to begin with. 🤓

7

u/Response-Cheap Aug 17 '26

Glad I didn't get all riled up about them. Fuck it. I'm not spending $2k+ on some mystery turd. Especially while the LPC is still completely capable of just whipping out the ban hammer like they did with the crypto. Not worth it. Fuck it.

1

u/marston82 Aug 17 '26

Which is why a manual action 223 is the safest way to go right now.

18

u/beastslayer2563 Aug 17 '26

That’s sad

9

u/Dootbooter Aug 17 '26

Safest way to go attitude is the reason why Canada is in such a shit spot right now.

3

u/marston82 29d ago edited 29d ago

I would wager I have more safe queens right now then you have fingers. You’ve only been a PAL owner for a year and you are goading people to buy guns mostly likely to get banned? How many AR15s, vz58s, XCRs, ACRs, Type 81s, etc have you owned and had banned? Oh wait, zero because you were not even a PAL owner in 2020.

1

u/Response-Cheap Aug 17 '26

Well if you wanna foot the bill, I'll take one of all available semis in each configuration please. Otherwise. Buying ban bait because "I'm doing my part" just to have it become a paperweight is an absolute idiotic way to make it through this bullshit.

Am I happy about it? No. But would I buy a yacht if they were talking about banning all yachts? No. I'm not made of money, and I'm also not stupid.

I'll buy whatever I think isn't going to get black listed, and spend all the money I've saved not buying every boutique gun that trickles into the market on ammo and range memberships. Shooting and having usable firearms long term is more important to me than having the latest greatest semi.

I'm not a collector, I'm a shooter.

3

u/Response-Cheap Aug 17 '26

Yep. I've got a couple semis that aren't banned yet, and until something major happens, that's it for semi's. Good thing I enjoy manual actions.. I can't afford to collect safe queens.

2

u/Even-Somewhere-9554 Aug 17 '26

It is promising. I will wait for a first batch before deciding anything. It is almost end of Summer, unless they hold all manufactured stock for Canada to fix all QC which means the delivery time would be delayed, I won’t risk it now

2

u/Sure_Cat_7551 Aug 17 '26

I asked rdsc about this last Friday eta is now late September at the earliest while brigade figures their shit out

2

u/RedWoodyINC 29d ago

Sounds about right. Considering how many stores had an allotment and how many preorders there were across the country, it's hard to imagine they were able to keep up with that kind of volume being a small manufacturer.

6

u/Whispersfine Aug 17 '26

99% boutique guns are garbage.

2

u/HappyCan7250 Aug 17 '26

According to the shop i was dealing with, rifles were supposed to arrive on the 15th in store, but no word yet on arrival, seems everyone is still listing out of stock or pre order, but it should be any day now. I got $2k just sitting there waiting for the minute I get the arrival email and pay the balance.

Even though I've recently bought a Backland Comp and AD500 in 223, I still want the Mk15 too. Semi auto 223s are really growing on me. If I have 3 I can rotate between all 3 while barrels cool down!

1

u/Admirable-Panic-3357 29d ago

Why would you support these trash quality companies ya simple brain. Quality always.

My grandma said, fools and his money are soon parted 🤣.

3

u/Top_Importance6216 29d ago

spare me the bumpkin aphorisms,

make dosh, have fun.

2

u/PsychologyTrick7306 29d ago

How is this announcement supposed to help those of us getting the first order? They knew about these issues a long time ago and did nothing. Definitely thinking of canceling now.

1

u/JurboVolvo Aug 17 '26

Are they based in Florida?

1

u/Acrobatic-Catch1553 29d ago

Your’s?  They can’t even spell. Out.

2

u/Major-Ad-4288 29d ago

Florida...

1

u/noobte 28d ago

at least they are acknowledging it instead of pretending its not a problem

1

u/Canuck083 29d ago

Won't even consider these or the Carmel...everyone should wait until supreme court decision
