Feets / Collection / My build Back from the dead
After learning the true power of a 308win and witnessing the horror it brings when paired with a very lightweight tikka t3x, my wallet has cried out loud and brought this home to train and get acquainted with.
I have done quite some research, and as i wanted a 22lr i picked up the ruger 10/22 scope and rifle combo from basspro for only 460 plus tax.(Get it while the sale is on!! You also get a hard case).
With the ad break now over, ill continue.
I was planning on getting the derya tm22 flash/ derya tm22 feather (m16 look is crazy)/adler arms rf 224, all because i wanted an AR style plinker and maybe the occasional hare/ rabbits/ squirrels/grouse. Broke my heart to see that none are that good for hunts. So i wanted to settle for a cz457. But Alas thats a bolt action! So i went in and got the semi auto ruger 10/22 and realized that can be my hkg36c if i need it to be xD.
Now collecting info from you guys on what aftermarkets to install and what to get replaced on her.
I dont want a competition shooter neither do i have the capability to dump 1k+ on her.
Tldr: got a ruger 10/22 and need suggestions on aftermarkets and swaps

The SKU you got is already a good value out of the box because it comes with a BX trigger and auto bolt release (two most popular mods for 10/22). Next most popular mod is probably a tool steel extractor (Volquartsen, Kidd etc.) that helps with reliable cycling and eliminating stovepipes. Volquartsen sells a bolt tune up kit that includes both a firing pin (not mandatory, but good peace of mind) and extractor.

This looks like the new model which comes from the factory with the BX trigger and the auto release function right out of the box. On the older models you had to buy the BX trigger group and do the auto release mod yourself.
Tbh you really don't have to do anything to it. What you have is already a tack driver on it's own. I would say just stock up on 22LR ammo, pick up some more magazines for it and maybe down the road a more powerful scope if you want to do some competitive shooting but that's it. Also, if you plan on taking it out hunting in the bush then I would just leave the original stock on it cuz it's bound to get dinged up anyways.

I was only thinking to change the mag to the butler creek one and maybe the stock but oh well guess ill leave out the stock for now.

The Butler Creek mags are all pinned to 10 rounds anyways. You're only spending extra money for extended pinned mags that I guess look cool but do nothing. I'd would just stick to getting the 10 rounds mags. Also, Winchester Wildcat mags will work and you might find them for cheaper.

Huge fan of magazine couplers, theres a few from various 3d printers and sellers so you can kind of pick your style. They add a slightly weird profile to the gun but the extra rounds being right there + being able to do a traditional reload is a huge plus

An extended mag release is a must have imo the auto bolt release mod is handy to have so you don't have to mess around with the little metal pieces and I like the magpul stock for them it is more comfortable imo

The factory stock is absolute dogshit tbh , its hollow, light and feels cheap like the sks ati stocks. What srock would be a 10/10

Love my magpul moe x-22 stock on my 10/22. Light, rock solid, and very comfortable.

The 10/22 is simply unbeatable for a semi .22lr. Maybe I'm an exception but I never had a jam in over 2k rounds of cci standard plus some HV. Cleaned every 300-400ish rounds
I hear you on the factory stock but the issue I always had with replacing it is that it just works and it feels wasteful to toss it.
The Turkish shit is tempting until you're out in the field with your buddies having nothing but issues while their bone stock 10/22 is chugging along

I got a skeletonized enlarged bolt handle from CSC and some Williams peep sights mounted on mine and it’s been a fun plinking/hunting rifle so far! I wanna get the BX trigger group for it and a better stock later on too
