Shooting 100yd Crown Land to zero rifle southern ontario
Hey guys,
I would like to zero a new rifle at 100yds and do some target practice on some crown land but im having trouble finding anywhere with enough space. I just got my pal this year so im not able to join any ranges until at least next year so im stuck shooting on crown land for a while.
If anyone is willing to point out a good area or give me a spot that works I would really appreciate it. I live in Etobicoke and dont mind driving a couple hours.

I submitted an application but they aren’t accepting new members until next 2027

You can rent range time on the 25 yard range at silverdale as a none member. If you do the math you should be able to zero your rifle from 25 yards

I believe it’s a 50 yard range as a non-member. At least it was like that earlier this year

You can rent time on any range at Silverdale without being a member. We have used 25 yrd and 50 yrd. If you want the 100yrd, they make you sight-in at 50yrd first before moving to the 100yrd

Don’t need to be a member. Will cost $60 for 1.5 hours. We have been twice, and are going a third time at the end of the month. Call to book your time….might be a couple weeks wait to get a slot, depending on when you want to go.

check out the area west of Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. the other side of 507. probably some spots in there, but also lots of campers and off roaders.

East Elgin Sportsman’s Association should be joinable. They have various outdoor ranges up to 300 yards

Best thing to do is find a frozen over marsh in the winter time or set up a target on the opposite side of the marsh and walk around. Best part about the frozen marsh is there is lots of dead trees to staple targets too.

Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club has an indoor 50 yard range and they're always taking in new members.

Why is just getting your pal a disqualifier for joining a club?

It has nothing to do with the pal, some clubs only admit new members certain times of the year.

Plenty of clubs in the SW Ontario area with open books. Given OP said they're OK with driving an hour or two I'd say they haven't looked very hard.

Southern Ontario your best finding someone who owns a farm.
