Misc Aside from the obvious black rifles, what else is on everyone’s radar this year?

Any new releases expected this fall? Any box that you’re still looking to check that isn’t one of the new black rifles hitting the market?

What’s on your radar for the rest of 2026?

I’m still on the hunt Long Branch No.4 and possibly a new 6mm or hot 22 centre-fire.

We're about to see a bunch of marlins next week in 45-70 and theres 1 dark series on the shipment and its calling my name.

When people realize there’s a few Marlin Darks coming on a shipment be like:

Oh yeah lol i was amazed we are getting 15 tbh

3

u/QuarterFantastic6134 Aug 08 '26

How much advance notice do you get for Marlin Dark backorder/shipment ETAs? Is there also a guarantee by your provider like - "the next shipment on November 4, 2026 will be guaranteed to have 3."

Guessing it's the same as the bigger shops that are honest, straight-shooters? That there's no guarantee of when backorders get filled and they don't get guaranteed quantities on a set date.

4

u/LumberjackCDN Gold'n Loan Outfitters & Pawn Aug 09 '26

0 notice until theyre at the distributors. It actually sent me scrambling this time, as they had even more then 15 for us but we werent in a position to take them all financially.

2

u/QuarterFantastic6134 Aug 09 '26

Wow that's seriously interesting. Definitely DID NOT have a previous career in logistics ahahahaha......

But is it literally the authorized Canadian Marlin distributor pings all shops that wanted Marlins "out of the blue" based on previously placed backorders AND orders for the shop's general stock asking for payment? Is there a fierce secondary bidding war too at the distributor-level for orders that shops did not prepay them for (can only see bigger, reputable shops willing to pay entirely for backorders they received with no ETA)? Those examples would be a headache for accounting trying to plan and manage cash flow.

Edit - typos.

3

u/LumberjackCDN Gold'n Loan Outfitters & Pawn Aug 09 '26

No basically they ask stores that are in good standing based on backorders. No bidding war or anything. But stores have credit limits and if it exceeds it they ask for prepayment.

1

u/Longjumping_Deer3006 Aug 08 '26

Scalpers 🙄!

1

u/QuarterFantastic6134 Aug 08 '26

Yep hate them too. ABSOLUTE RESPECT to the stores that at least try to impose minimum rules against that like limits per customer and no obvious sock-puppets ordering to the same address for things guaranteed to sell out quick anyways.

To clarify in advance - I'm not saying anyone is ENTITLED to a store waiting X days so they can personally get the funds together to buy a highly desired good. It's a marketing/PR decision for each individual business. Do you sell out the dozen to Scalpy McScalp who had a web-bot set up to snipe it all OR do you wait a day or two for normal people who also just as willing to pay you? The former choice may be convenient in terms of paperwork/handling time while latter is a strategy to build customer loyalty and goodwill. Gun scalpers themselves aren't the ones that would buy a bunch of furniture, maintenance supplies and ammo from you during or afterwards to run the gun.

u/TheBulletBuddy Aug 08 '26

Just googled that one and damn, thats gotta be one of the nicest out of the box lever actions I've ever seen.

Wow.

u/LumberjackCDN Gold'n Loan Outfitters & Pawn Aug 08 '26

We're getting about 15 marlins next week but only 1 dark in 45-70. So it might come home with me, wife allowing lol.

I’ve got an older GBL, the temptation for new SBL is tempting

1

u/LumberjackCDN Gold'n Loan Outfitters & Pawn Aug 08 '26

They are pretty. We'll have 5/7 coming available i think

10

u/looloopklopm Aug 08 '26

Have a Bergara b14 hmr in 308 on the way which will finally get me past 100yards. Only other thing I need (lol yeah right) is a lever in 357.

5

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 08 '26

I also want a new 357. Currently have a Henry but it’s tube fed..

u/Top_Importance6216 Aug 08 '26

id love one of these guys. pic stolen from another canadaguns user (sorry brother your shit was too nice not to save)

8

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 08 '26

Yes, I just got that! That's mine LOL dude. It was my second after the GSG Mauser 1911.

7

u/Top_Importance6216 Aug 08 '26

I want you to know out of all the things in the world, that picture is what finally got me off my ass to fill out the exemption form.

7

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 08 '26

Nice! If you had done it a few months ago it would have saved way more paperwork because in BC the process was even simpler before July. It was literally just a simple form.

3

u/Top_Importance6216 Aug 08 '26

trust me im kicking myself for procrastinating.

2

u/CDE42 Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

Even worse, I had my exemption letter before the change, but budgeted the pistol for this month...fak. So I have to resubmit.

Today was my first sanctioned day shooting with a coach on the books. I'm getting a pistol locally and want a backup, but haven't picked a model yet. 🤔 It's really hard to choose. Was nice to see some other new guys come out who just got their pistols. Makes me impatient...but something to look forward to.

*Edit - I got a real nice Nanuk case today, the store owner gave me cost on it! Looking forward to filling it...

2

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 09 '26

I don't understand. If you have your exemption letter you don't have to resubmit. You just use the exemption letter for the transfer. The new process is for new requests or pending requests. Either way you should import from the USA to increase the supply, that's the whole point. If you're getting it locally there's almost nothing to pick from and forget about a new one.

1

u/sl33plessnites Aug 09 '26

What changes did they make ?

1

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 09 '26

Requires proof of training now, membership in a club and a training plan. Basically more paperwork and a limit of 1 gun for training. Whatever Ontario and Quebec are doing to make it extra difficult for anyone to get guns as a hobby for sports shooting is what is happening.

2

u/sl33plessnites Aug 09 '26

Damn. I figured that was going to happen. I should have not procrastinate as well..

2

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 08 '26

This is what it looks like with the regular flush magazine and optic cover. Accessories are from Amazon.

12

u/Glockinmytacklebox Aug 08 '26

Do you guys think the Makasi will come with a sticker??!

6

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 08 '26

A sticker?

11

u/Glockinmytacklebox Aug 08 '26

Yes I get dissapointed when my guns/car parts have no sticker in the box.

7

u/pinkystinkypinky Aug 08 '26

Browning Bar DBM

2

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 09 '26

Any update on the eta yet?

1

u/VMC-Eh Aug 10 '26

Spoke with Dante sports last week about pre sale orders. They said they "haven't seen the approval" come in yet...

1

u/syspak Aug 09 '26

In one of those infitech handgaurds and butt stocks.

1

u/Bull-RunTheJewels Aug 09 '26

I can not find one of those or anything similar anywhere!!!

1

u/syspak Aug 09 '26

Reach out infitech and see about ordering once to Canada.

They're European so they will probably ship here?

7

u/GopherRebellion Aug 08 '26

Building a 10/22 with a Samson BTM folding stock. Issue is parts availability for building a 10/22 from scratch. Trying to find a factory contour barrel of the correct length is very hard. Since it's a folder I need to have a 26 OAL in folded position

1

u/PteSoupSandwich The 10/22 Dude Aug 08 '26

If you want a cheap, take-off barrel ...GunPost and CGN are your best bet.

If you're looking for an after-market barrel thats 18" minimum and will fit a standard 10/22 stock foot print; Faxon 18.5" Flame Fluted will work and is available

Dr deals in new brunswick sells stripped apart ruger 10/22 rifles they sometimes have factory 18.5" barrels.

If you want new/aftermarket try reaching out to nine35 as he imports 10/22 barrels from the US.

4

u/Vikare_ Aug 08 '26

I'd like to try some target pistol shooting at my gun club so I can get an exemption and buy another 22 pistol.

I have a .223 howa bolt gun I bought last year that I've barely touched. A 308 of some sort might be nice.

Maybe a Henry homesteader for 3 gun? I already have a 1301 comp.

At this point I am focusing on doing IPSC and maybe some IDPA, there's more gear I can buy but I'm trying to keep it simple and do production for now.

5

u/Scary-Detail-3206 Aug 08 '26

Hoping to finally get into reloading. I had everything lined up and ready to purchase, then a tree on my property got damaged in a windstorm and that money went to an arborist instead.

3

u/GasMan1021 Aug 09 '26

I hope you do too, we need more folks learning how to make ammo. I enjoy the hell out of it.

1

u/Scary-Detail-3206 Aug 09 '26

I’m slowly picking away by purchasing the cheaper components. Really just still need to get the press and case trimmer, then of course powder and bullets. I’ll keep watching sales and get there eventually.

1

u/GasMan1021 Aug 09 '26

Lots of good presses and trimmers on Gunpost. To start id grab an older RCBS rock chucker or a Lee single stage press. Can always upgrade later down the line.

2

u/Scary-Detail-3206 Aug 09 '26

I never thought to check Gunpost, thanks for the tip

9

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 08 '26

Waiting to get a Glock 44 V over the next month or two. No more rifles for me though since nothing new worth getting in 22LR anymore.

3

u/Dill_Pickle_Tears Aug 08 '26

In the same boat as you. Well, more like focusing on handguns for the time being, I still have many long gun aspirations but not my priority right now.

I’ve seen such mixed responses to acquiring the G44v through IRG. They explicitly say on their site they don’t help source via third party so you need to find US site yourself, and the only G44 on the IRG storefront has a prohib barrel length.

Is it true they can swap out the barrel for you with the threaded variation so it’s a legal length before importation?

Others have said the Canadian variant is like a unicorn. I rent one at one of my ranges and it’s sweet.

1

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 08 '26

Contact IRG and they will provide instructions. You buy the G44 V AND the threaded marksman barrel. It ends up being 4.5". They will install the longer barrel and do all the paperwork before importing. The only thing you have to worry about is providing the exemption letter to the RCMP and hoping they approve the transfer. If they don't approve the transfer take them to Federal Court over it because the legislation is pretty clear they have to approve it with the exemption letter. You will NOT find the Canadian G44 version because no retailers have it and no one is importing it new. And you definitely will never find the G44 V in Canada for sale new.

1

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 08 '26

Assuming you have an RPAL and are doing the long term loan thing?

2

u/coffeeofwar Aug 08 '26

Long term long thing?

2

u/Relevant_Diver_3228 Aug 08 '26

I think he was talking about the .22 lr exemption but what is this long term loan thing that you speak of?

1

u/567432Gains Aug 08 '26

They froze handgun transfers.

They did not freeze loaning a handgun as it requires no transfer papers to do so and has no clear length of time in the written law as to what a maximum amount the loan time could be.

1

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 08 '26

Yes, it's with the 22LR exemption.

1

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 08 '26

You can borrow another’s handgun for something like up to months at a time.

1

u/Curious_Joe2020 Aug 08 '26

No, I'm importing from the USA and waiting for the RCMP to approve the transfer. I think a lot of other people are also waiting for their transfers to be approved for imports. There's like a big batch of them across BC apparently pending approval since July.

1

u/WS2329 Aug 08 '26

I have a few G44 and TX22 and TX22 Comp… my fav is the TX22 for ergonomics but G44 is a great plinker too! Good luck with your purchase!

5

u/TimeNefariousness802 Aug 08 '26

Shotgun for skeet shooting

4

u/Comfortable-Moose492 Aug 08 '26

Tactical Imports is hopefully working on some new things to tease for us before year's end. I'd love a "micro" length .357 revolver carbine thing like their .45/.410 model, missed getting a real revolver before the big freeze back when and I just wanna shoot .38s for funzies

4

u/KalashnikovParty Aug 08 '26

I enjoy collecting old remington 870s and other guns from back when remington had a legendary reputation

3

u/jmz-jmz Aug 08 '26

Something in .308 or 6.5 - maybe a Tikka Ace target, maybe something from Beregara. Probably the tikka though

3

u/GME_DiamondHands Aug 08 '26

Nice try RCMP.

3

u/coniferslav Aug 08 '26

I hope to see the new CZ 600+ Carbines with iron sights, I want one in 7.62x39 since I missed out on the 527

1

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 08 '26

I love my 527, such a handy rifle.

What does the + bring to the 600?

1

u/Iokua_CDN Aug 09 '26

From what I know, it's their new version that actually  can do the barrel swaps

Plus the Carbine version is a new model, sort I'd a cheaper  Lux as far as I know? Wood stock and irons for the mini action rifles  I wonder if you got a Trail and a Carbine  if you could swap the barrels around

1

u/Master-Editor2668 Aug 09 '26

Controlled feeding is the big one

3

u/Equivalent-Shoe-1652 Aug 08 '26

Nothing new necessarily but im looking to get a 1301, dark series or henry supreme lever. Hoping to get pistol exemption to compete.

4

u/567432Gains Aug 08 '26

I’m going to do something never before done with an SKS (I think it’s never been done before) starting later this year or early next year.

5

u/schmeatfactory Aug 08 '26

i am curious tooo

5

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 08 '26

Go on.

1

u/567432Gains Aug 08 '26

No no, I’m saving the reveal for when it’s actually done. But iv been planning it for a while and iv decided I’ll use a Yugo for the project as they are weirdly the cheapest options right now and most robust build.

2

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 08 '26

Rechambering into something fun then.

3

u/567432Gains Aug 08 '26

You will just have to wait to see, but I solemnly swear, feet will be in the pics.

2

u/goshathegreat Aug 08 '26

Perazzi High Tech Skeet.

2

u/Bull-RunTheJewels Aug 08 '26

I’m probably gonna get a Chiappa 1886 Takedown 45-70 with a 12” barrel 😄

2

u/Murray3-Dvideos Aug 08 '26

Pedersoli Jackal in .44mag.

2

u/Zen_Bonsai Aug 08 '26

Black guns?

2

u/Iokua_CDN Aug 09 '26

I got a few

  1. A semi auto  shotgun, got the pump and the break action, and want to try out a semi.

  2. Semi auto 22lr like the tm22. Love how compact the little thing is, and I'm a bit tired of dragging  my 20 inch barrel bolt action 22 to the range. Time to try something more compact.

  3. A 9mm rifled. Initially interested in those short pump or bolt action deryas, but for the price I'm considering a Henry Homesteader instead. Especially with the cool toys now made by fellow redditors Here like folding  1913 stock adaptors.

  4. Eventually  I do want a 223. Waiting to see how all the new rifles shake up. More tempted to spend 1k-1.5k on a Turkish rifle  and just roll with the traditional ranch rifle aesthetic.  Or the Kodiak trigger on an Alcor that makes it look really good.  If reviews on the new rifles continue to be lackluster, I'd rather just get an Alcor that has at least been around a while in Australia as a lever release gun.  No use spending twice the price and getting the same quality.

So that's me, basically 4 different semi autos. Breaking free of my Fudd ways now that I have pretty much every sort of manual action.

Or maybe I'll scrap  all of it and buy a black powder muzzle loader and go full Fudd

1

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 09 '26

Embrace the Fudd ;)

2

u/GasMan1021 Aug 09 '26

Personally my pick would be a new TC Encore if they ever hit the market, besides that im really interested in a 25 CM

1

u/dsac Aug 08 '26

I'm waiting on a Marlin 1894 dark series .44 to be my first purchase...If they don't come in before Christmas I might "settle" for an SBL. That's the gun that inspired me to get my PAL, so it's gotta be the first purchase.

Then probably a Panzer M4 Speed Pro in marine finish, and an Adler RF224 to round out the safe.

1

u/icedesparten Aug 08 '26

I scooped up a No4 Mk1 Enfield for only $530 with the original wood, 4 small holes in the stock from a clamp on scope mount.

Still wanting a Henry in 357

1

u/TheObviousNovice Aug 08 '26

For me, a New Savage 110 Core Hunter LH in 7PRC, looking for it to be a consistent contender for 500-700 yard shooting. It seems like everything I was looking for in a bolty for the right price.

I saw those are on sale this week. I picked one up last year, you won’t be disappointed.

1

u/Massive_Expression_2 Aug 08 '26

Maybe a simple bolt action 22LR with nice walnut or laminated stock. Got a Derya 9mm pump this summer that has been a really fun range toy using the peep sights. May have to put a red dot on it for my more inept guests. 😆

1

u/syspak Aug 09 '26

Find a gun smith to put the barrel on my tikka.308

One of those 3500 rdsc lever guns in 5.56

Maybe I cancel both my preorders of the of makasi and Carmel and just buy the little lever rifle.

1

u/Bushido_Plan Aug 09 '26

I gave away my reloading kit two years ago and now I feel like reloading again. Gotta see what my options are.

1

u/tyler111762 Resident Certified Millennial Punk Aug 09 '26

I got hands on with a Manticore 10/22 and now my wallet is looking at me with fear in its eyes.

1

u/Hopeful_Relation_441 Aug 09 '26

i would love to see a 9mm lever made by someone decent

0

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Aug 09 '26

Taylor and Company make one. It’s supposed to be pretty nice.

2

u/Hopeful_Relation_441 Aug 09 '26

thanks but oooof! 1600 USD may as well get a marlin at that price

1

u/SniperTeamTango Aug 09 '26

Wooxing some 22s for the fuck of it

1

u/duckin-depressed Aug 10 '26

cz 457, have semi auto .22s but want something to punch smaller holes. and watching for 6.5CM +peak to hit shelves
