Misc OPK7 and PSO scopes ?

Hi there. I've been trying to find an OPK7 scope for my SKS but i can only find airsoft versions. Are russian style optics hard to find in general ?

They'll either be hard to find or sketchy to purchase at the moment due to the conflict and sanctions.

The most reliable sources at the moment are still likely Belarusian company's / importers selling BelOMO optics. POSPs, POs and PK series red dots.... all made in Belarus. Some models are top tier by Russian side mount standards.

NPZ in Russia makes mosts of the Russian stuff, excluding a few outliers like the Kobra, 1p87 and OKP-7. NPZ optics can probably only be secured in Russian via a transaction deal that likely wont allow u to claw back ur money if nothing arrives. And the optic will bounce through satellite states to dodge the sanctions. Or u may be able to purchase a lightly used NPZ 4x24mm-1 PO locally from another Canadian who had one on their Type 81. Tons of these were imported in. The clamp mechanism isn't SVD compatible, but should work with most SKS side rails. Kobras and Chinese copys of the 1p87 can also be found used in Canada. Once again purchased in mass by Type 81 enjoyers.

Another SVD optic supplier that may be easier to acquire is Vector Optics. They make Asian clones of NPZ scopes and many will argue that they are similar quality.

Real OKP-7s have been a rare bird for as long as I can remember. Unless u got inside connections with who makes them in Russia, I'd say your SOL for that model.

Interesting. Thank you for your reply. If anything comes to worse, could an airsoft copy work well if i cant find anything?

I have contacts that manufacture (or at least one of the manufacturers) these optics, they assure me they are intended for real steel rifles.

The one in your image below is an SVT-40/PU scope. I'm not saying it's *for* SVT-40 cause it's a side mount one, but that's what they like to call it.

How do you intend to mount this? SVD type optics won't work on AK rails because they have a forward stop pin that gets in the way. Most side rail mounts I've seen for SKS (including mine) are AK style

just on the side of the SKS probably near the reciever. I already sent a reference photo in one of the threads of this comment section.

Ironically urs is the only one that doesn't support SVD optics. Westrifle, East Wave and MOLOT rails all have the center channel for SVD optics.

You could easily make the argument tho that 80% of Bubbas ultimately position an SKS side rail in a location that favors AK optics instead of SVD ones anyways.
