Feets / Collection / My build IWI Carmel 16.5" with faux suppressor

As titled. It is not as heavy as people thinks.

For reference, I used to run a PEQ15 on a 16.5" Bren 2 and they ran very similarly weight-wise as the PEQ15 was an extra lb on the Bren.

I might take the faux suppressor off after some range test.

Edit: It is about 10.5lb as it stands. I do have a Surefire Scout light on the other side. Without the faux suppressor it is about 9.7lb. I rather suffer additional weight to not see the pencil barrel.

What's with people complaining about a lb difference in weight lol.......like it's gonna make a fuckin difference. If anything a heavier gun means less recoil and more stability.

People wants to find a reason to hate on this gun based on personal preferences without actually handling the gun.

IMO given the limited options the Carmel seems to be the best overall 223/556 semi auto rifle on the Canadian gun market atm. Even though there's a few other options, none of them seem to hold up well.

Absolutely.

Makasi could've been good and can still be better with the right modification and tweaks.

Backland Hunter is not bad but there are too many lemons.

AD500 is solid but I dont like the looks.

Handling all of these after running our own testing, Carmel > Backland Hunter > AD500 > Makasi

Makasi has good potential, but the QC is horrible. It needs a complete overhaul of the front section (handguard, barrel assembly, gas block remade)..

We changed the gas setting and it was still giving random variety of stoppages. And yes, we cleaned, lubed and tried different ammo.

After 200 rounds of struggle, it was finally making through a mag of 10 but not consistent enough.

On top of that 4.5 moa with range ammo is crazy to me.
