Buy recommendations Next gun advice.

Im looking to buy a lever gun for plinking and target practice. So far I have a ruger 10/22, cz 457 and a benelli supernova 12 gauge. I've got my eyes on the marlin 1894 or smith & wesson 1854 in .357 or a henry supreme in .223. Any advice on which one would be better overall? Leaning towards the henry supreme at the moment since ammo is cheaper.

Erm all? IMO .357 is better than the Henry supreme bc .38 special is insanely cheap especially if you are into reloading. So good for plinking.

I wish I could get them all. They are 1500 plus per gun so won't be buying them all at once. lol

Both are good and will do you well!  Slightly different  357 and traditional tube magazine vs 223 and box mag, but both can take a scope or red dot or just irons. The Supreme will have further range for sure.  I'd say hold both and see which you Like the look and feel of better.

Ya i've I've handled all 3 guns in the store. they're all extremely nice. ammo cost and caliber versatility will probably be my deciding factor.

Both are good for different reasons but if you want a classic lever and classic lever cal go for the marlin

I don’t have a supreme but if you don’t already have a .223 I’d go with that. I’ve got 2 other 223 so when I was looking at levers I went with wrangler blackout in 357 and I love it! I also grabbed a Levar12s and Morrison iron wolf 22lr all 3 are insanely fun to use!

Can't tell for Smith and Wesson, went with Marlin 357 SBL. Build quality is top. I don't have any complain. The only reason is that S&W was new in this market (lever action) and Marlin well established. That's the only reason but not because I heard bad things about S&W.

i have the S&W 1854 in .357 and i love that thing. its light, it takes .38 special for cheap plinking, but you have the option of that 357 punch if you wanted to take it into the bush and hunt with it. highly recommend getting into reloading if you shoot lots. under 20$ to reload 50 rounds, when factory is like 60$ (357 rifle rounds)

I have a couple older Marlin 44’s. Unfortunately micro barrels are inaccurate with most OTC ammo, but otherwise they’re absolutely fantastic rifles. Very very fun. I’d go lever 357 and shoot 38special for cheap. Big fat bullets going slow are where it’s at for plinking and range fun. Get a bolt for the 223. IMO.
