Application / Regulation advice Individual Web Services

Do I have to view or respond to the emails I get about Individual Web Services from the RCMP?

I am having trouble signing in and would rather not if its not required

If you get an IWS notification after buying a NR, 99.9% of the time it's a confirmation that someone ran your PAL through the online verification portal to generate a NR transfer reference number.

In other words, it means nothing. It only indicated that someone ran your PAL, and doesn't track the actual firearms - that's up to the seller.

If you are having trouble with the IWS I'd start by trying with the default browser (edge, safari) or clear your current browser's cache/cookie.

That is what I have heard from sellers, but I overthink all the time so I wanted to check regardless.. But I will definitly try what you suggested

Hard to say without knowing what they’re about. What kind of difficulties are you having signing in? Are you able to authenticate through GCKey? Is your problem with the actual IWS login? The email OTP verification?

The problem is it asks for my place of birth listed on my PAL, but it doesn't list it, so I put what I definitely put on my application in and it was incorrect so unsure what to do... How would it authenticate thru GCKEY?

I'd recommend getting your login figured out. It might not be required, but you won't know until you see what it is.

It's just a notification letting you know your PAL was checked.

it's what ive been told it is and am sure it is but I wanted to check for sure... If it was something that needed responding to, would they message me again or phone me?

Your PAL was checked, which is required by law (for both retail and private sales)

I think it’s a copy of the transfer info from your purchase
