Fix my gun Ottawa Area Gunsmiths 2026?

Good evening,

I recently had an out of battery discharge in my TM22 and I wanna get the barrel inspected before I do anything else with the gun. I tried running a ram rod through it with a brush and it comes to a hard stop, even though the barrel has no visual obstructions (but I can see some sort of deformation in the barrel).

Are there any gunsmiths in the Ottawa area besides the Gun Medic and Gunco? I used to go to That Hunting store but it seems they don’t offer that service anymore.

Personally Id go the DIY route on a TM22, unless you’re set on paying for a Smith.

Eg.
Grab a penlight, flash that down the chamber while you look in from the muzzle end. If you dont see a your light, there’s your problem.

If there’s an obstruction, get a long wooden dowel and hammer out the bullet (easier if you take the barrel off) A cheap bore scope can also be handy to view damage once the bullet is out.

There is no obstruction as I can see through and through, the cleaning patch and brush are both getting hung up on the same spot. There is definitely some damage, I submitted a warranty claim to Derya, but I figured for future reference I might as well look into some local gun smiths.
