I like it. If they smooth out the QC I can’t wait to see people do calibre conversions on these. Would be cool to do an non-restricted long range build with a suitable cartridge and then a shorter range build with the restricted

Umm yes please. I would pay for a 308 version of this rifle with a nice upgraded barrel. Toss on a proof research carbon fibre barrel or something.

These are apparently already marketed as multi cal and they sell the 7.62x39 in the states already!

It’d be rad if they offer builders kits with an upper, bolt carrier, gas system and handguard so you can outfit it as you want be even just complete uppers would be sweet. I’d wanna put a real skookum barrel on for a 6ARC or 6.5 Grendel. Bartlein, Krieger, etc

I would like a 7.62x39 conversion, hopefully someone sells a pre-drilled barrel + bolt kit to make the swap easy.

Yeah that seems to be the biggest obstacle - any barrel changes you do require a gunsmith to drill the gas block (I think that’s what it’s called) for the roll pin to fit.

Minor but in ON we are hard up for gunsmiths which makes it annoying

You’ll need a NR length barrel that is properly contoured to accept a 0.750 gas block at the correct location on the barrel for a carbine length gas system (same as a WK-180 barrel, I think IBI were making some).

That what I am hoping for. They make 10.5 uppers for these and then have a 20” upper for it. Shield rifle works will hopefully make barrels for these

Then its probably a special order barrel. Aside from no aftermarket carbine length 18 inch barrels that I'm aware of, its also probably a smaller custom gas port size to offset the enhanced dwell time.

I wanna say IBI was making barrels contoured for the WK and WS’ with carbine length gas systems. Should be easy for them to start pumping them out again. If these are around long enough I bet some enterprising shop will put out adjustable spindles for the gas blocks (similar to what is done for M14s stateside for cans) so you can tune the gas.

Watching the video, you can notice that they have not fixed the handguard alignment with the upper receiver. The gas key/piston strike face of the bolt carrier group has no staking on the screws. The optic is not properly mounted since the mounting piece is not tightened flush with the optic mount, perhaps due to the out-of-spec Picatinny rail?
