Lost pin on disassembly, Gunsmith or Manufacturer fix

Possibly dumb question. I just bought a new .22 and I was doing my first cleaning before I was going to head to the range tomorrow. Follower wasn’t coming out while I was stripping the rifle so I had to poke around a couple other spots to get it out. I needed up messing up the trigger spring and the whole trigger assembly came flying apart and landed everywhere. I’ve managed to find all but one part, the pin that keeps spring tension on the trigger to fire.

Is it better to get in touch with the manufacturer or a gunsmith for a replacement part? I’ve never really had to go to either for any issues so I’m not sure if the manufacturer will handle something like that or tell me to kick rocks. I also don’t really want to have to worry about shipping, but I also don’t want a to have to pay the free for being stupid at the gunshot replace a pin on a never been fired rifle.

What type of gun is it?

If it's currently in production getting a replacement shouldn't be too hard. The challenge you will have contacting the manufacturer is they can't ship to you usually if they're out of country.

A gunsmith could be an option. They might make the pin.

Another option is figure out what size it needs to be and to buy some rod of the correct diameter and cut it to length yourself.

Gun is the Henry US Survival Semi Auto. The good this is that I could probably measure the pin I still have that pivots the trigger. It’s the same size as the other one, and could maybe look into 3D printing. I really just don’t want to piss $600 down the drain on a fun little backpack gun. I wasn’t aware that international manufacturers can’t ship back site it comes with a “lifetime warranty”

1. Contact the store you bought it from and inquire about factory Henry parts.
   
2. If you can't do 1, contact Henry and they will set you up with a Canadian dealer who can do parts and warranty on their behalf.
   
3. Contact a gunsmith if you can't do 1 or 2 and maybe they have on hand, or can source, or make new.

I would call Henry directly. They've been super great every time I call them.

You could use a c clamp or duct tape to hold the trigger group in if you really really really want to go shooting tomorrow

Honestly I'm probably going to wait. I bought it because I’m taking a friend who doesn’t have a licence to the range and I wanted another semi auto to shoot with cheap ammo lol. If I go out with him tomorrow I’ll just buy some extra of the centre fire that I was going to bring

Grab your drill bit set and see if the solid side fits in any of the holes.

Get a strong earth magnet and sweep the area with that
