custom 10/22 IPSC setup

Belt is a cheap one from Amazon

The mag pouches are 3d printed, 2 different designs put together. The part that attaches to the belt from one model for a different style of mag, and then the 10/22 mag part from a different model with a smaller belt attachment that didn't fit.

Did my course with just regular mags stock rifle. A little awkward to get the mags out.

So for the first match I added an extended release, and designed some extensions for the mags.

The extensions have a little clip that screws into the extension, and holds onto the little finger divot on the mag, then I also just glued them to the bottom. Much easier to manipulate, and the finger hole makes it pretty nice to pull out of the holder. The extra weight makes them drop nice with the extended release.

Only used them on grass, they held up fine there. I think if you were dropping them on harder surfaces they'll eventually get beat up. I played around with a rubber sleeve over it, probably try them when we move indoors for the winter. Seemed like they help up OK but only tested those in the garage.

I plan to, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Wanted to do some actual test runs first and see how they worked in actual use first.

Just tossing them around my yard or garage only tells part of the story.

SBI has those metal weights for the bottom of the rotary mags, I wonder if you thread those to add a pinch more weight to make the drop easier. Plus they're pretty durable so it'd stop them from getting too beat up, maybe.

The sbi ones look like a similar idea, but smaller and made better so you can use screws and machinical force.

It may be worth adding a "live rounds" embossment or something to the file. At first glance, the safety orange made me think this was some sort of stand or protector for when the range is dead.

I used orange partly because that's what I had, and party for finding them in the grass after a round. For ipsc you wouldn't ever have them in the rifle unless you're on the firing line
