Misc Bring in The Rossi 7122M Delta .22 WMR
Long shot, but I figure I would post up here and try to get some momentum behind getting the Rossi 7122M Delta in Canada by making a dedicated post. It already has an NR classification on the FRT and would be a small but nice change from all the .22LR semis we have now.
I have already tried to contact North Sylva (via CGN) and Gravel Agency but neither have replied, so I am wondering if anyone out there has contacts or influence that could get the ball rolling on this.
Consumers; Ask your retailers to inquire about these and stir up some interest
Retailers; If you could call in and ask why these haven't been brought in yet as customers are asking for it, it might get some more interest from importers drummed up..
I know there has been a number of comments and posts mentioning these between here and CGN as well as other groups, so let's see if we can't get them here.

Spoke to IRG about this - it’s a South American exclusive model, and was never registered for sale in North America.
They told me it’s not possible to bring this into the country, unfortunately.

Well hopefully with enough demand we may see them land in the country, who knows. I would imagine one or two had to make its way to the RCMP Lab in order to get an FRT# in the first place..

I mean, there are countless, rare prototypes of experimental military rifles in the FRT... So yeah they put just about everything in there even if it's never destined for the Canadian market lol

I remember a few years back at TACCOM i went to the NS booth and actually met the guys and got business cards. I had reached out to them several times afterwards and never heard anything back. I'm at the point where i think if they see an email not coming in from one of their vendor accounts its either ignored or screened by their email system.
and Gravel Agency
I have gotten responses from them but they quoted me an arm and a leg. I reached out to them for a replacement CDL wood stock for an old 700, and they quoted me just over $800 and no ETA. At the time i could have bought a brand new COMPLETE R700 CDL for like $1200.
so I am wondering if anyone out there has contacts or influence that could get the ball rolling on this.
If it already has a NR FRT, why not just reach out to Irunguns or Prophet river to import one for you?

That all tracks with my experience as well, but Gravel has not gotten back to me.
As for your last point, I would like to see more than just myself getting into this product, that way we develop a community, one that can help solve common issues, establish product support, show builds, generate more sales, more aftermarket support and get more into the hands of legal owners.
Seems like enough people are interested in it, so it wouldn't make much sense to just grab one for myself and not try to get more into the country.

Let me know what they say, I know Gravel were the ones to submit the rifle for an FRT but if N.S. deals with Rossi then they may be able to make some inquiries.

WTF ... So just thought to myself "how is that not prohibited like the GSG-15 & 16" ... THEN I see the GSG-16 Carbine is Non-restricted while the GSG-16 IS NAMED PROHIBITED... While the STG and MP-40 models are named Prohibited for the carbine and regular models both.
... I make no admissions to owning any of these, but going through a bunch of emotions... Let's say based solely on the logic fallacy, all based purely for my fellow firearm enthusiasts in Canada.

u/TheObviousNovice I know we need IRG to import arms from USA because US has export control laws. What stops people from importing directly from Brazil?
There is paperwork involved at Canadian end (because you will need permit, AFAIK) but does it require a business to handle it?
Did anyone try contacting say Rossi directly if they have any dealers in south america who would export the firearm?

I imagine that it would require special licenses on their end to import firearms, most business that run this model like IRG or Aztech Armory have physical addresses in both countries and likely have import/export permits for both locations, which is why they can only ship to that address, and then once on this side of the boarder they will ship the item to your home address. I suspect that it would work the same way if they wanted to have flow back and forth from Brazil. I doubt they would open one since the U.S. makes the most sense from a business standpoint because it is the largest arms and accessories manufacturer out there, so there is a lot of product variety and demand. I am not an expert on this however so I couldn't say for sure if that is how it works or not..

Well, we get Taurus and Rossi firearms via companies like Gravel Agency and North Sylva. I doubt they have presence in Brazil.
One thing I believe is that we need to ensure that rifle being imported has magazine pinned as needed. Fortunately Rossi 7122M Delta does not have that requirement because its magazine does not fit any handgun (afaik) so there is no magazine pinning needed. AFAIK, for an individual importing a firearm that is NR, all they need is PAL and some documentation on custom duties etc.
So, in theory, you will need to find someone in Brazil who are licensed to export firearms and complete paperwork there. I think likes of CBC Rossi might answer if you ask or tell you if their partners can export the firearm in the quantity (one) you need.

Yeah exactly, those companies will go through an exporter in Brazil I believe, which they already do since we have products from Taurus and Rossi here. If I understand correctly, IRG is their own exporter in the USA and importer in Canada, they don't need to go through a separate agency as they are their own.
That is pretty much why I am trying to get retailers and their customers to contact North Sylva and Gravel to get some momentum going on this.

I am not sure if that is the case, I imagine that companies like Gravel or North Sylva use Brazilian exporters, where as IRG or Aztech would use their own business addresses in the states for their import/exports without having to go through a exporter, since they act as their own exporter in that case... I think..

Not war, it would be a fun Coyote gun. Been using a buddy’s bolt action 22WMR and it’s been great. It would be nice to have a decent semi with more than 10 rounds for popping them, would be easier to stay on target and dropping a pack moving through his Neighbor’s cattle. Definitely a use case for more than plinking.
And yes I totally get the sarcasm of the weapon of war comment 🤣🤣🤣

I will always downvote ridiculous comments like this. The tm22 looks way "scarier" and it's here. These jokes, as well as "lost in a boating accident" and "it will be banned" comments on questions/show off makasi and Carmel posts, are so pointless. It's like humans have now been conditioned to find humour in being bots.

0% chance this hits the Canadian market, and if it did, I'd say it would be one of those guns that needs 3 safety settings: safe, fire and straight to safe.

Looks sick. I'm gonna go talk to my local gun stores and see if they can put some pressure. These would sell quite well if they are decent in quality.
