Feets / Collection / My build The meme and the dream, JP Sauer and Sohn addition

Post image

(I suppose they both look a little meme-y)

Just to provide legal context, yes the top shotgun is legal (has been featured in many of my posts before). But as a reminder, when shortening non-restricted firearms via cutting or sawing:

- The OAL cannot be cut below 26”
- The barrel cannot be cut below 18” (18.5” semi-auto)

That said, these are my two JP Sauer firearms, a cheapo 12GA SxS with ejectors that I cut down, and my newly coveted JP Sauer triple barrel Drilling, with 12GA-12GA-222 REM barrels, featured here about a week ago (which will remain un-vandalized by saw).

Figured I would feature a couple of seldom seen firearms, let alone seldom seen in the same room! And seldom from the same brand too.

Cheers everyone!

If you would like I have a video tutorial I can DM you!

But personally, I just use needle nose files to make a new crown. You can buy a dedicated crowning tool from brownells (if they’ll import them, I’m not entirely sure), or make a janky homemade one with an acorn nut. But even just hand filed, this one fires relatively straight. Then it’s a blast with some cold blue or a blueing pen, and if you’re feeling fancy, you can plug the gap between the barrels with JB WELD epoxy.

For the front sight I just bought a truglo screw in green bead at Cabelas, and used a drill and tap to rethread a new hole (you can get a 6-48 drill and tap on Amazon for like 2$, or you can find in Canadian stores a 3mm drill and tap. The truglo sight has both options for screws). For the record too, I had never used a drill and tap before, it was very easy to achieve for those who might be intimidated

Holy hell I didn’t actually know they made K98’s. That’s incredibly cool, rock on man!

I'm in love with that drilling. I need to find myself one in a moose-capable calibre and still available calibre. Or just get into reloading lol

I love the drilling way more than I thought I would, and I don’t even hunt at this time! There was one on the same site that was 12GA-12GA-6.5x55 and another 12GA-12GA-30-06, both of which would’ve been sweet but they sold out in an instant. That said, I am happy with .222rem, as ammo is available, and I just started handloading for it and it’s literally like 35¢ per round as opposed to 3.50$ a round.

Anyways, keep your eye on intersurplus! They always have the cheapest not only drillings, but curio guns around! Great company and half my arsenal is from them haha

Love that little cut up  meme gun! Part of me imagines it even more meme like, with a little pic rail screwed to the end and a folding  stock  attached
