Buy recommendations Resale on silver pigeons

Here’s the thing: I’m a buy once cry once type of guy and don’t like holding cheap guns I won’t use.
I want to get into trap and am looking at getting a silver pigeon… I don’t know how committed i would be to the sport so I was wondering how easy it is to sell these guns later?
I might just keep it because it’s so pretty but just curious how easy it would be to get rid of if I did need to

There's currently 2 full pages of ad's for Silver Pigeons on Gunpost at the time of this comment. A lot from July alone and several from June as well as one from May.

I'm not too familiar with this discipline or firearm, but if there's that many sitting around not getting sold. it generally lands into either a) not a lot of interest or b) people asking for way too much for their used firearm.

I'd argue a lot of people selling their firearms are buyers remorse trying to recoup like 90% of what they paid for it and think saving people the tax is a good deal.

Most on GP are 20ga and 28", you'll probably want a 30" - 32" O/U for trap/skeet, etc.

Also, at the current price ~3,100 - $3,200 used, its only 25% cheaper than buying new (with tax), I'll probably just buy new for the warranty?

Nothing wrong with 20 if that's what you want, same with a 28 inch barrel. Again do your research of course, there are trade offs. But I wouldn't say one is better performing overall than another.

You have to go pretty old to start getting cheaper ones. Mine is about 50 years old or so, and it was still $1000

You cant go wrong, we've got a brand new one on the wall in the store right now the 686 sporting (if you've looked on GP you've probably seen our BNIB listing for it). Its probably the nicest over-under ive played with in terms of it fitting me. Much more natural feeling than the citori 825 we had not so lont ago.

That being said id try to lay hands in the one youre going to buy to make sure it fits you.
