Misc Experiences With Borderview

Hey y’all! Good to see you guys again today! Big question for anyone who has any information, as some is better than none, I am moving to Louisiana in 2028 and being a gun owner in that situation is incredible. However, I want to bring down my current firearms from up here in Canada. I’ve been recommended a few importers and exporters, but consistently I have been directed to Borderview. Has anyone here used them for a move or for importing/exporting a gun? Do you recommend someone else? I’m going to be dealing with a lot of headache with all of the other documents regarding moving permanently, so knowing that there are people who helps with this kind of stuff is good to hear. Borderview had the best price back when I was comparing the big 3 for CA->US but things could be different now. Irunguns is worth looking at as well but from what I remember they shine more in the US->CA direction when it comes to pricing.

Just be prepared to be disappointed if you have a lot of long guns. You will pretty much get filtered down to fudd guns because of the ATF's assault weapon categorization for imports. All combloc stuff is also an instant no. Unless you have some very rare or sentimental pieces, you're way better off repurchasing stateside. Although your collection will end up being completely different anyway because of all the cool stuff you'll have access to.

Thank you! I just sold my SKS for that reason. I mostly have shotguns and rifles, but really the only semi auto rifles I have are a 10/22 and a RIA 22, since those are readily available in the US, they should be ok, right? I appreciate the response!
