Fix my gun Gun Stock Oil Question
Hey all! I'm redoing a cooey .22 rifle from the 50s and look to oil the stock. I saw alkanet oil suggestions and love the way it looks but not getting many hits in Calgary when I google. Does anyone know where I could get this or inquire about it? Seems to be mostly powder when I google and I don't want to risk trying to make my own oil. Truly appreciated if so, as this is a project I'm working on with my dad at the moment and he has waited a long time for this together. TIA!

Recently refinished my old cooey and I used a stain and clear because it was birch. I was going to do alkanet oil or a shellack before taking off the stock finish and realizing it wasnt walnut. Having said that, my plan was to steep tung oil and then test it underneath the but plate or somewhere else inconspicuous before going ham on it.
