Gents (Ladies Too) I have been with firearms all my life. Here is my respectably small collection.

I am a man of one caliber as my father before me.

7.62 x 51 for Life.

Target practice: 308.

Deer: 308.

Coyotes: 308.

Grouse: 308.

Squirrels: 308.

No sir, the lords caliber is .45-70 govt, everything else catches .308 215gr.

I thought .308 was kinda limited to under 200gr and that was one of the bigger draws of 30-06 in comparison being heavier bullets?

Both are pretty much capped at 180 commercially, but i have seen 215gr .308 and 240gr 30-06

Nothing wrong with the young ones having lots of other calibers! Just 1 for me is good though.

Awesome rifle

Accurate

Reduced recoil from ARGO bolt

Service Trigger, Could be better. Mine is 4.5 lbs but other R1s can have up to 7 lbs

Proprietary Mag design is Atrocious. Your one reason to not get this rifle

What dont you like about the proprietary mag? Is it just small and annoying to put in or is it unreliable or what?

Also is that a razor on it? I love the razors they are so nice

I have the same rifle. I have good reviews so far as well. It wont be as accurate as a Tikka bolt action but it will be more accurate than any semi on the Canadian market. Around 1.5moa. . Has a free floating barrel, toolless takedown (although the takedown is a little bit of a pain), and every part is made in Italy

First off your demeanor is incredibly based. Respect the family tradition but what about lil mav 88 to bust some clays, and a Rugger* 10/22? What about a beautiful French tickler or perhaps a Bubba SKS comrade?

Nothing wrong with the other calibers for sure! Just 1 is good for me though. I'm an old man and I can't carry too many guns all over the place.

I also participate in caliber compatibility, but I am slightly less practical, 30-06, 9mm, .223 and .22lr across dozens of platforms.

I was in a similar boat. Not the one caliber part but I had two shotguns for about 25 years but no place to use them, so further purchases were pointless. Now I live out in the country and I'm up to 4 guns. The shotguns for hunting, .44 mag for big predators (we have a few here), and a .22 for the rats that apparently just come with chickens.

Nice guns, though. 7.62 is a lot of fun.

I went thru a, I need two rifles for each chamber I have? It got really expensive so I’m not quite as stringent though I have several .308 I think it’s my fav all round cartridge. I do love my 45/70s and my .338 and .375 and 12 g and .357 and ……. The list goes on and on
