Gun and gear reviews IWI CARMEL 5.56 Surprised Me… 200 Rounds Straight Out the Box
https://youtube.com/shorts/sb0SrnB51LU?si=BZkm-BwyiLDtPl1eI did not focus on grouping yet for this rifle because the range is only 13 yards unfortunately though when I go to
I’ll be going to a longer range. It’ll make a separate video on the grouping for both Makasi and Carmel

Imo the Carmel is uglier than the Makasi but I bet in the long run it's a smarter choice because it's IWI you know the thing is going to be a tank

That’s why I flipped my
Pre-order. Tbh personally I don’t think it looks half as bad as others are saying. Makasi has an edge with looks but barely to me. Other more important factors.7

I want big, the chicks want big, im not big, but I can offer them I big carmel stick for their enjoyment

Looks only go so far... id rather have an ugly beast of a gun that functions over something that looks like it goes faster but lacks in build quality.

Bro when Green Tips reviewed his on CGN and I seen the handguard screw was cross threaded in and marked the shit out of the gas block or whatever it was
That did me in , they using air tools to put these together
I called and changed my pre order at 900am when tenda opened

Bro IWI does a 75,000 round no stoppage test before sending firearms to retail or military

I dont know... I thought the opposite.. the stock that comes with the makasi is pretty ghetto lookin for the money youre spending. And from what ive heard on here, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. If the carnel is anything like the x95 in terms of quality, itll be worth it

Good to hear. The early Makasi reports re fit, finish and QC aren't great. Small sample size but consistent.

Who’s had fit and finish complaints with the mk15? Was it OPs video or others?

u/twistedhumoraffy Jul 26 '26
Mine was fine so far

Generally I’ve heard less complaints from American reviews dating back to 2024ish, and your experience seems to align with that too.
Thanks for pumping this content out as it really helps with deciding what to buy

Someone here and someone on CGN

I’ve only ever seen the CGN one. If you can find the one from here I would be interested in viewing it.

There's a post here today somewhere from a fella who ordered in a restricted length version through Irunguns. He's not thrilled.
Edit: My apologies. It was the CGN critique.

I'm staying manual actions til some legal issues (SCoC decision) and reliability issues (incoming semis) are laid bare. A Renegade is this summer's new love. I have an SKS that is bitching from the safe for attention as well.

Smegma? Are you joking or is that a typo for something else?

u/Mysterious_Sleep7443 Jul 26 '26
Totally joking ill delete that just a haha

u/yummybunnybear Jul 27 '26
No worries. I guess the jizz of it is that the Makasi QC has issues
2
u/Mysterious_Sleep7443 Jul 27 '26
Jizz lol.....Im just going off the Greentips CGN thread, that was literally the first one someome posted that was torn down, the handguard screwed crossthreaded and leaving thread imprints on the barrel nut left a bad taste in my mouth, brings me back to the garbage rods WK180 days

Sorry brother I feel bad posting these, maybe I shouldn't, I switched my pre order to Carmel after seeing that , with the amount of money we put iut gor these guns in Canada and most likey no warranty support ( in a timly manner that is ) i cant risk it

Looks promising Makasi looked promising but I think IWI caramel might be better.
Fan of Tavor wish I bought one before the ban 😢

The amount of debris and visible gas and dust floating around in there.
Don’t know where this is, but I wouldn’t be breathing that air.

I shot my short barrel SxS the other day and it must be fouled because it puffed a bit of smoke and I tasted a hint of sweet - which is lead. Needless to say, I put it away.
I can't imagine how much worse it would be indoors ventilation or not.

It’s the new range in Mississauga. I think it’s called down Ranger range view or something.

u/DarkFar5348 Jul 28 '26
u/twistedhumoraffy Saw your Makasi build was super impressed that you managed to make it look sexy-ish and ergonomics seem pretty ok considering what you had to work with.
Do you have plans to spruce up the Carmel? Is there much you can even do with it?
2
u/twistedhumoraffy Jul 28 '26
I did add a grip, hand break and stream light to the Carmel that’s pretty much the most I could do it’s super bulky
You see in the next vid in coming dayMakasi being think and light gave my more to play with and hence the sexiness
2
u/DarkFar5348 Jul 29 '26
From what I gather, Carmel for military grade ruggedness and reliability, Makasi for somewhat modability. Owning both, do you concur?

I’m not surprised on the carmel. It’s a IWI rifle using the same system found in the Bren. It would be a reliable gun.
