To my (non professional) knowledge you would have to “declare” them, as in show them what you have and that you have a valid pal. If you don’t they’ll probably throw you in jail and throw the book at you for being such an obvious naughty criminal.
Or they don’t check your bag and you’re good to go. It’s a gamble

Just to add, it's worh your time to not only check the CBSA import regs, but also the American export regs. Don't want to end up with the Yanks asking questions as you leave and them taking issue with undeclared firearms parts
