Yeah it's useless in the context of hiding from mods. Still blocks it from 99% of people though! Mods can still see posts and comments to make sure accounts are not a bot, astroturfing, brigading, etc.
But there happens to be a trend where people with hidden post histories (larping as gun owners) complying with the buy back. For what purpose? Probably a psyop to encourage other people to do it as well.

I don't think you understand the definition of bootlicker. Bootlicking is supporting bad policing for example on the basis they are the police and authority and not being able to critique them at all.
