Fix my gun Oil it or needs re-blueing?

Bought an heirloom shotgun and it’s been fine for a few years, this summer was brutally humid in my house and I took it out for a 6 month checkup/dusting and noticed pitting and rust on the barrel.

Would a re-oiling and dehumidifier fix this or should I get the barrel re-blued ?

(Using 3 in 1 Oil rather than a gun specific oil - should I use something else?)

First use 0000 steel wool and some oil, I’ve have success using G96 gun treatment and rub out the rust. From there you will get a better look at how bad it is. If you choose not to reblue just layer of oil when putting it back in safe should stop the rusting. If you choose the reblue route, at this point it will be more than the gun is worth if you want it perfect. The rust has to be ground out of the metal and smoothed before reblue. My advise, do the steel wool treatment I said above then if anything just get some touch up bluing and do that yourself. If that’s the route you want to go. It won’t be perfect but will stop the rusting.
