Application / Regulation advice Rejected photo
I already have a PAL. I applied to upgrade it to a RPAL. The online portal just updated showing they reviewed it last week and to wait for an update. I called them to see how are things going. They told me my photo was rejected and that I would receive a letter related to that.
Has anyone experienced that? How long did it take to receive the letter? It sucks because I have to mail my Photo Guarantor and references, wait a week for them to receive the papers, then wait a week to receive it back, then wait a week for Miramichi to receive it, then wait for them to process things.

The list of the 10-15 things on photo parameters is wild. As an interesting observation being clothed is not on said list

Man life is brutal for sub 8 males. The black pill strikes again. Chad is getting his photos approved in a dimly lit dungeon

Yeah shadows and shit can effect your photo getting approved. Honestly best is to get it professionally done

As someone looking into getting their RPAL, I assume if a photo is good enough for a passport it is good enough for a RPAL? I need to get passport photos done this fall anyways.

When I took my safety course the instructor recommended going to any place they do passport photos and spending the twenty bucks it takes to have it done there. Make sure to specify it's for a PAL, they'll get all the settings just right. He said he's never had anyone report a rejected photo when they went that route.

Unfortunately my wife's was rejected using a professional service. They dont always know what they are doing. We sent our paper work in same day, i had my PAL in hand in 6 weeks. She got hers nearly a year to the day.

I went to shoppers drug mart and was like “I need my photo for a firearms license removal” and the guy was like “ok”, then selected “firearms license” on his camera computer and it worked

I had the same happen, called in if you get the right person on the other end of the phone they might let you email a new picture in, but I wasnt that lucky, had to get a picture taken and send it in. When you get the letter it was recommended to me to send that letter back with the photos so they know who it is. Got my new card a couple weeks later.
It turns out upon looking at the pic and my old card my dumbass had worn the same shirt in both pictures so they looked kinda like the same photo.
