So far i'm happy. Ive owned many mossbergs over the years, id say this is it the middle. Its the newest gen of 500. Upgraded safety. its got allen screws instead of flat heads. Newer stock with a cheaper recoil padand the screws are in a different position. Still the old action bars with the tube & nutand not the pinned forend. The hydro dipping is nice. Typical wear pattern of the magazine tube, ibe maybe racked it 20 times. Its not the smoothestout of the box..but ive seen 500's, 835, 590's all with different feels and then drastically different after a break it. (My mavericks have been some of the smoothest..) What i really like is that the holosun seems to cowitness withe front highviz front. And with the reddot off you easily see the front sight with out tipping or canting the shotgun.. It didnt come with a plate to cover the cut out section, which i find strange... Gonna email mossberg and see if that was supposed to be in the box. I really like the 20" barrel with a vent rib and choke. Its all in one hunting/tactical/ bush gun. I havent field stripped in to see if any internals have changed yet.
