Don't buy cheap optics folks.

This is not always sound advice. Nobody with sense is putting $500 glass on a rifle that’s $300. Cheap optics are fine, you get what you pay for.

Cheap is relative though.  A cheap 70 dollar lpvo likely won't last, but a 300 dollar one will

This is true. That’s how I view my optics, basing what I spend on it to what they sit on. Ive had an ~$80 red dot on my turkey 12ga for the last 3 seasons, and shot it plenty in between. zero hasn’t moved an inch, never changed the battery.

I'm kinda the same boat.  Cheap knock off Romeo red dot for 80 bucks and so far seems to be surviving great!  I'm newer to the optic games, so I'm planning on starting cheap, and upgrade if I actually use it enough to break it
