Feets / Collection / My build Morisson Lever Action

Post image

Anyone else thinks lever actions are the coolest/most interesting single actions out there?

How serious is the carbon ring issue with shooting 38 in a 357?

it's not. Carbon rings DO appear, but it takes a LOT of shooting before they affect anything, and they're not all that difficult to clean out. Same as with a stainless revolver and carbon staining around the cylinder: it's mostly cosmetic. Things have to get REALLY gnarly and neglected before any functionality is impaired.

Basically: don't worry about it. With regular cleaning, you probably won't notice issues until thousands of rounds are fired -if at all- and even then it just needs some flitz on a bore mop in the chamber. Use a drill if you're impatient, and it's fixed in a few seconds.

I like the old single action revolvers personally. But lever actions are fun to

I got the Ironwolf version in .357/.38spl, ran through about 150 rounds smoothly. My friend got the Weston version with a 20" barrel and got light strikes a lot. Now he's sending out for a warranty for the second time.

How does it shoot? Any issues with the lever? Looking to get the short version but not sure how reliable these are

I've had no problems with mine. Around 1k rounds fired I'd guess. Only gets better with use so far.

Pretty typical 357 lever gun: how well it feeds depends hugely on the bullet you're trying to use. Also typical of this class of gun, 357's generally feed better than 38spl, but both work adequately
