Application / Regulation advice Importing from Canad to Europe

Located in Toronto, trying to transfer firearms to Europe, does anyone know certified dealer that can do it, because all the Google and RCMP suggestions are not (even though they are certified) doing it except from Canada to USA

You need 3 things to do this.

  • Exporter who can do the necessary paperwork, get export permits, etc. Lots of companies will have this on their license, but that doesn't mean they will want to do it for an individual.

  • Carrier who can physically transport the guns to Europe. Good luck finding one yourself. You'll get a crap load of PFOs.

  • Importer who can do whatever is necessary to import the guns.

The importer and exporter will need to work together to determine what can be imported and exported. This can be complicated depending on the destination country and type of firearms.

Your best bet is to find a company who specializes in importing guns into Europe. They will probably have carriers they can work with. They might also have exporters to work with.

I think you might find it will be way cheaper to just sell the guns in Canada and buy new ones in the EU.

That's what I figured, thanks for the info, I was just grasping for straws, hoping someone has some kind a contact that I can use, because I ran out of leeds, the sad part is I have 6 handguns that I can't sell

You can sell them to a licensed business, but you won't get anything close to what you paid for them. If they're 22lr someone with an Olympic exemption can buy them.

I think there’s this one collector in Czech Republic who had been consistently bidding on Canadian auctions and has been sweeping up what would normally had cost thousands of dollars worth collectible pieces for a fraction of what they would typically cost because many are on prohibited list and nobody in Canada could buy them live.

I run into the same thing with questions regarding exporting a CSOR 10th Anniversary edition P226 to Panama. What I came up with seems to be that most Canadian exporters deal primarily (and sometimes solely) with US exporting. So I think I have to exporting of an FFL holder business in the US who will then export the pistol to Panama. HUGE expense and logisitc nightmare. But it's a rare(ish) 1 of 500 made firearm and is sentimental to me. So I may still do it.

Have you talked to prophet river yet?

They're in Alberta if I remember correctly. I used them for importing from the US I think they can help with export as well.

Also something to consider from what I'm hearing it's a nightmare to ship to Europe right now because they're redoing something with the VAT.

My MIL was trying to send stuff to family in Portugal and it was a nightmare
