Is there an honest to fuck reason they make the carry handle overextend like that? It genuinely just makes it so dang ugly… maybe I’m being too nitpicky or something but it really flicks my bag

Its removable on the feather I’m told but I don’t like plastic so bought the pro

The sight is built into it. But I totally agree it’s not a great look.

It holds the handguard on.

Honestly you’re better just to get a pro

I wish they made the m16 look in aluminum recievers

Not want to be that person but I don’t get the hype around TM22. The pro version which is probably the best version, has a very soft aluminum receiver and usually one of the three screws that holds the whole firearm together gets stripped after a couple of take downs. Then who thought it was a good design to take your optic off to be able to take down the gun?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fine plinker but in terms of quality and design, it is very questionable.

Removing my scope to fully clean it is annoying and I fear mine may be slowly stripping. Gets about 1000 rounds run through every weekend I take it out. Top plate screws are usually loosening by the end of it

The only good TM22 is the Standard model.

It has everything that makes the TM22 a good gun, but you don't lose your zero on takedown and you ditch the stupid push-down safety, and it's lighter than every other model. And it's half the price.

I will buy 1000 more TM22s before I buy another 10/22. That’s a hill I’ll die on. Every gun has its downsides…

What do you hate about the 10/22 so much?

I have one with the Magpul stock as my first .22LR and IDK it's kind of boring. I feel this would be more fun. My biggest gripe though is I have a .22LR and no option to have bigger than 10 mags.

You can get the SBI 597 mag adapter and buy either the 22rd banana mags for it or the 30 round drum mag. Promags are cheaper than the BX-1 Mag anyway so you can stockpile them a little easier.

1

u/GasMan1021 Jul 13 '26

Just get the 597 adapters then you can have bigger mags in the 1022

1

u/DimensionSuch8188 Jul 13 '26

Yeahhh but I don't like the 597 mags. If I could have something to use my GSG-16 drum mag would be perfect and that is the TM22. It will probably be my next purchase once the dust settles if it's still allowed.

It’s the most below mid gun ever. When it’s stock it’s clunky; and only harder you change out half its parts it starts to be fine. Not to mention the mag restrictions that happened a decade ago.

1

u/Livid_sumo Jul 13 '26

Honestly the 10/22 is overhyped (the mag were quality tho).

Honestly the 10/22 is overhyped

There are several TM22 malfunction posts on this sub weekly. Can't remember the last time I saw one for a 10/22. They might be boring but they're reliable 🤷‍♂️

I asked a sales guy at a gun shop near me what he thought of them and he said “it’s a fun toy”. So needless to say, I’ll never buy one

2

u/Livid_sumo Jul 13 '26

I mean what are gun for other than that ?

-2

u/Spare-Swim9458 Jul 13 '26

To you a firearm is a toy?

4

u/Livid_sumo Jul 13 '26

..... I mean yea at the range its a toy, at most its a tool for hunting..... what else do you think they are for

2

u/GFN_good_for_nothing Jul 13 '26

I’ve heard bad things about the plastic receiver on these…

1

u/Reasonable_Hall2346 Jul 13 '26

In before the automatic reddit bans.

1

u/Kid-On-Reddit- Jul 13 '26

Theres a post of a awfully priced valmet still up

1

u/Reasonable_Hall2346 Jul 13 '26

True. But I’ve seen people get banned from reddit admins with less.

1

u/MovingLikeDracula Jul 13 '26

What logic is there that these are ok but the little gsg 22s all got banned?

1

u/SixEyeSassquatch Jul 14 '26

The gsg could actually clear a mag. 🤣
