50% of tables at gun shows todays. Showed their wife that they "tied" to get rid of their collection while chatting for 5 hours.

There's a guy at my local gun show. Same 4 tables for even just the 10 years I've been going, same rifles for sale every time. Has never sold a single one

I honestly thought about getting a table and putting ridiculous prices on some of my guns, not necessarily because I want to sell anything. I just want to show them off; but every man has his price, so if I was going to get a ridiculous offer, I’d be tempted to take it.

The more I collect, and the more I get into things, the more my tastes change. I’m at the point where I’m not very seriously thinking about a big bore double-rifle, but also fantasizing if someone came along and offered to trade a decent one for most of my collection, plus some cash, I might take it.

I have also looked into this fellows reviews and in his last 50 reviews ive noticed that 80% of them are from New Members with only 1 feedback, you have to wonder if they are fake accounts that are being made to boost his trader rating up higher

It’s not worth that. Don’t buy it lol

u/Benefit_Waste Jul 13 '26

I dont think he is lol. He’s wondering why they’re that price

u/DoYouGetSarcasm Jul 13 '26

I could go post my jw15 (cheap 22) for 15k of i wanted. Doesn't make it worth that or mean someone will buy it

I really wish I could block this guys ads to stop him from tarnishing my habitual scrolling he’s gotta be single handedly keeping the lights on at gunpost 🫡

Yikes!!! I just checked his profile, and its likely this loser is the guy clearing out all the stock on Marlin 1894’s lol. But hey if you’re dumb enough to pay his over inflated prices I guess you get what you deserve.

People can ask whatever they want for something. Doesn't mean anyone will pay it.

Insane for a tuned up Marlin. Bighorn Armory makes their receivers from scratch, plus the fancy well finished walnut, for significantly less. No idea where they get that number from.

This guys ads are spam on my GP feed, so annoying. Scalpers can get fucked.

Over priced gimmick gun

4

u/Relevant_Diver_3228 Jul 13 '26

No that isn't overpriced it would only be worth 4k without the mad pig stickers those stickers add 5k to its value instantly

u/FedInformant Jul 13 '26

Lever actions are usually so over priced but this is insane

u/Conscious_Bid_8762 Jul 13 '26

We have a guy in Nanaimo. that does that on town post super annoying. he’s been getting desperate and lowering his prices. If people just didn’t buy them people would stop doing this. after selling for a break even or loss?

u/Longjumping_Deer3006 Jul 13 '26

Gunpost admins and CGN really need to find a way to combat scalpers and the "I know what I got sonny crowd".

3

u/EliteDuck Jul 13 '26

Nothing is going to happen unfortunately, as these guys always pay to boost their ads to the top of the category and onto the front page.

1

u/Bohdyboy Jul 13 '26

What do you think should happen?

2

u/ArisakaType99_ Jul 13 '26

The problem is that this guy is artificially inflating prices by buying up all the stock, and scalping potential new shooters. Hella scummy if you ask me. I looked at some of his listing and he’s got $1800 lever guns up for like 3k plus

2

u/Bohdyboy Jul 13 '26

Ok.. so let's say you're right and he's bought up " all the stock"... I'm not sure what that even means in this case... but he's got a few hundred thousand tied up in all this stock if that's true, if not a million?

If no one pays him, he's got to lower the price, or sit on the guns and eat the cost.

You think the admins on those sites should get involved in setting what you can charge for your guns?

1

u/Longjumping_Deer3006 Jul 13 '26

New rules of where you cannot inflate the price way above market value.

3

u/Bohdyboy Jul 13 '26

.... so who decides MARKET VALUE, if not the market?

How is this any different than the 1000 dollar sks's everyone is buying now? They were regularly 259 dollars in quite recent memory. Often with some ammo.

If you don't like his price, and enough other people don't like his price, he'll have to lower it, and that means you were right. He was over what the market ( buyers) value was.

If he sells a few, that means he priced it correctly, for those buyers.
There are plenty of things i think aren't worth what people pay for them. That doesn't mean the sellers should need to lower their price to match my expectations

3

u/Bohdyboy Jul 13 '26

Why should they get involved?

If its too much, it won't sell.

Its a really simple system

Delusion

2

u/JurboVolvo Jul 13 '26

Paying to cut the line

2

u/jmz-jmz Jul 13 '26

This cost me WAY less than that, with optic. Guess I should get it cerakoted and sell lmao

2

u/Joels-workshop Jul 13 '26

The lever gun market on gunpost escapes me, every other market you will find decent deals but for some reason with lever guns, the people all have them posted at or above MSRP.

I think there were a tonne of people who hoarded lever guns when Ruger bought Marlin and many are still trying to sell them for a profit.

2

u/LuckNo2351 Jul 14 '26

its 4700 usd on their website, so its about 6600 cad.

4

u/Standard_Custard2338 Jul 13 '26

That's the price for people without a clue and way too much money.

1

u/adrenalineJ92 Jul 13 '26

Why so pricy?

1

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Jul 13 '26

I mean to build that would bee cheap because the parts are expensive and it wasn't a cheap gun to begin with.

I swear the barrels on these were chopped as part of the customization so I never thought I would see them sold in canada.

1

u/No-Night-48 Jul 13 '26

Can't you see it comes with STICKERS!

1

u/Cute_Ad6301 Jul 13 '26

How?

"Custom"

1

u/OhNoACanadian Jul 13 '26

There 2.4-3k new lmao. Some places routinely re stock them

1

u/thecoolernameistaken Jul 13 '26

Some dude pissed me off with his scalping price. 1500 for an upper. So I told him 500. He told me off so I reported the ad

0

u/InspectorCivil6220 Jul 15 '26

The raven upper?  “He told me off so I reported the ad” how emotionally stable and intelligent of you lmao

1

u/thecoolernameistaken Jul 15 '26

I mean if dude wasn’t a dick I wouldn’t have reported. If you think being emotionally unstable is reporting an ad you need to go outside

1

u/InspectorCivil6220 Jul 15 '26

Reporting an ad because you didn’t like that someone took offense to offering them a 3rd of their asking price is really lame. Grow up you absolute mong :)

1

u/AlgaeGrazers Jul 17 '26

Space gat that came from space! Adds about $7500 to the price.

1

u/Superb-Resist-9369 Jul 17 '26

its a high end custom from mad pig customs, imported in from usa.

At most 2800 for one. So 5600 for two
