Misc C21 exemption in Ontario?

I've seen tons of posts about BC and AB, but does anyone know how to go about getting one in ON?

In Ontario, it's:

  1. Join SFC and ONTarget
  2. Borrow gun (ha! if possible ...)
  3. Shoot a sanctioned match or more
  4. Apply to SFC for an exemption

Is step 2 an actual step ? How do you borrow a gun

There’s quite a lot of people trying to go this route to “obtain” a handgun nowadays and citing they’re training for IPSC and their black badge course or something. People are paying the price of the handgun and also “application and inconvenience fees”.

I don’t know your risk tolerance but I don’t trust people to take care of my stuff the same way I do, not to mention it’s something you cannot replace easily.

I suggest some research on this. Many things become very different when they are done for “profit”. As an example, someone can compensate you for buying ammunition that they use to shoot your loaned pistol, charging to loan them the pistol is an entirely different matter. Someone can compensate you for gas used to drive them to the airport, charge them for the ride and now you need a different insurance policy.
