Rf224 feed problem we

Brand new gun, first few round, and it is doing this, and it kept happening for the rest of the mags. Is it a mag problem? Or is it a gun problem, I’m a complete newbie in debugging guns. And I don’t know what caused this kind of failure after firing.

The mag is pro mag rem597 22 round with the adapter came in the box of this gun.

I would love to know the answer and gain some knowledge as well! (Ignore the missing battery cap)

Most/all brand new guns benefit (some more than others) from a thorough cleaning prior to shooting for the first time. Not all cheaply made guns are bad, but their quality control tends to suffer. Also, semi auto 22lr is one of the most likely to have reliability issues.

I have a RF224 and experienced the same issues the first time. Stripped and cleaned everything, then applied oil. It's all good now.

My 1022 does this if I neglect cleaning after shooting Remington gold bucket.

When firing were you resting the mag on a surface beneath it? That'll cause feeing issues as well.

What rounds were you using?

Did you clean the gun when you first got it? They come shipped with some heavier oils. Strip all the oils off the gun, clean it, and reapply a light coating of firearm oil.

I have one pro mag 597 that gives me issues like this, the other two run pretty flawlessly

From what I’ve been told, the adapter that comes in the box is problematic to say the least. That may be causing your grief.

I may have just gotten lucky with a good one. But the 2 (10 round) mags that I received in the box have been flawless. Shooting CCI 40 grain, I believe.

Do you happen to have the same issue with the included mags?

Clean it, deburr mags if needed. Polish parts in contact with eachother and it should be more reliable.

I find RF224 don’t like Ruger mags as much as the ones that come with it. You’d think they’re the same but just a tiny bit different somehow.

Promag products are usually hot garbage, surprised nobody's chipped in with this yet. If you do get one thay runs well id be surprised, usually have to mess with trimming or bending the lips to get them to run right.

Any firearm I've tried to run a promag in (cz shadow 2, buckmark, and 10/22, have had fairly regular FTF. I dont even consider them anymore as a purchase option. Would rather have one working oem mag than three sorta working promag.

This happens with my RF too, no amount of cleaning really helps. Just test out different types of ammo that the gun likes. Not all 22LR ammo is made the same.

Generally I found these guidelines work to found decent ammo:

- no hollow point

• high velocity
  
• no subsonic

If ask at the range , someone will be bound to suggest something good. Make sure you explicitly state “22LR Semi-auto Turkish gun”

Id rather spend 1000$ on a used Ruger SR22 Gunpost scalper price than F around with these things, at least I know it will work
