Fix my gun TM22

Hey everyone. Just got a RIA imports TM22, brought it out today for its first real target shooting. Put around 200 rounds through it and at the end, the magazine catch button popped out. It seems the threads on it are stripped so the catch button screw won’t thread into it. Has anyone else had this problem? Or know where to get metal one?

Hit me up if you want a printed replacement. I'm working on the button side of the release and a charging handle but it wouldn't take long to model a first draft of the latch to keep you shooting.

Sfrc sells replacements. 3d printing or extended mag release kits are also likely options. The metal release button from the metal version of the rifle may also be an option.

Yeah I looked on sfrc but their shipping was almost 100$ for a 9$ part… I only live 3 hrs away. Is this not the metal version? The whole gun is metal. The only plastic part on it is the catch release button. As for 3d printing I’m assuming I would have to make my own cad file? I can’t find any online.

Oof that's crazy shipping. There might be other retailers out there. Odell was fantastic to deal with on the warranty side - unsure how that's being handled now but maybe worth checking into?

This is probably a problem with their website estimating shipping. I've had this happen with some shopify websites. Canada Post should be ~$20 for a flat rate envelope lol. Reach out to their customer service and I bet they will override it and fix you up

Yes, this was a mistake. Went on my desktop and it had the option for Canada post. 20$ but for a 9$ part, I had to order two of them lol. 3DGunWorks is sending me a printed catch as well so curious to see how it hold up.

Interestingly the first edition of tm22 this and the safety lever are both aluminum......

Just tap out the hole to the next size up and next time don’t buy Turkish garbage

Yeah might be my best bet. Very stupid it’s the only plastic on the gun I must say. Can’t bash it till you try it though, nicely balanced and is comfortable to shoot. Got it as a rodent gun so not complaining!

So I’ve got a piece or plastic from my plastic repair kit and got it nice and snug in the hole. Superglued it in, re tapped the hole, and it seems nice and tight and works now. We will see how my patch job works tomorrow haha
