Misc Optics cut slide milling

Hey folks, I’m looking to get my Glock slide milled for an optic.
However, the only place I’m aware of is black box customs and they require you have your slides cerakoted if they do any milling. I have zero interest in paying an extra $170 for a service and finish I don’t want.

Is anyone aware of any other companies that do CNC work?

Limited options,

Especially in AB unfortunately.

I’d recommend just biting the bullet - handguns are already rare, may as well have it done well to last you.

Casey at Tactical Ordnance will do it I’m pretty sure. He’s in Ontario.

I was very happy with the optics cut on my G19. It was pretty precise with a very very minimal gap front/rear with the optic mounted, very precise.

I didn't want the coating as I have one of those limited edition Canada models with the maple leaf etches into the slide.

I applied a layer of grease under the optic to protect it, I should probably blue the area though

Not sure you would want to have it milled and leave it bare tho, blackbox customs did my AOS optics cut , dragonsnout and burnt bronze cerakote on my glock 19x couldn’t be happier wait till their Black Friday sale and save some bucks. I’m personally not aware of other companies that do it either. I’m sure there’s somewhere in Canada that would be willing to do it. Hopefully you find what you’re looking for

I would blue just the area that they have milled. I don’t want to have the whole thing. Sarah coated just for a small area that was exposed on the slide

I guess you could do that I just figured doing the custom work to my slide was cheaper then buying an aftermarket slide as I did it on Black Friday a few years back now. And that’s fair if that’s what you plan to do, is it a black slide? That wouldn’t look terrible if so, on coyote tho not sure lol. Have you tried calling Blackbox and telling them what you would like to do? Maybe they’d be willing to do the accommodate, I can’t say for sure put they seem to be pretty decent shop to deal with

Yeah, unfortunately, they told me it’s company policy and won’t. I’m just not a fan of Cerakote on my guns and I like to rattle Can everything anyway.

Cerakoting is great, add some colour to your gun. I went with an ODG for my Glock slide after milling and it looks so mint. Blackbox does really great work, you'll be pleased with them and won't mind the extra bit of money to use them

Nothing against Cerakote, just don’t want it on my guns preferably. Dealt with BBC many times and can attest to their work, just not a fan of forcing a service I don’t want
