Buy recommendations LPVO recommendations?

Post image

Hey everyone, very well considering picking up the mk 15 when it comes out but don’t have much experience in the LPVO field and looking for recommendations. Not looking to totally break the bank so maybe around $500ish or so and I’d mostly be shooting out to 100 yards or less with it, thanks!

Primary arms is what I keep on my rifles.

Vector Optics OEMs for PA and is a fraction of the price for the same quality.

I picked up the vortex venom 1-6 with the diving board red dot mounted on the front. Its 799 and FOC is having a 10% off everything for canada sale. Wish I had waited a week before buying it 😪

Did you try to contact them? They might honour the sale price and refund you the difference.

Vortex has 2 bundle options for the Venom 1-6 that's hard to beat when it comes to our Canadian buying power.

My Burris RT6 has always done well for me. Started on a Raven, went to a few .22's and now sits on my Renegade. Love the thing, simple reticle without a bunch of extra BS that id never use, durable, battery lasts forever and the red reticle is decent in the day time. I use non illuminated for the most part though.

I’ve even started using the RT6 for my deer gun (savage 220)

For the price, you can’t go wrong with the Vortex Venom 1-6

I just finished looking at a few LPVO options for the same thing. I ended up buying the Vortex Venom 1-6. To me, it has much better glass than the strike Eagle at 1x and max magnification. Also the combo with cantilever for $500 is a smoking deal. There's definitely better and more expensive options and I will upgrade it to the PST Gen 2 1-6 I really wanted to give the Venom a shot

This is a really good budget option IMO.

There weren't .any options locally for me to see first hand. But even for the $500 price tag, it was better than the $750 strike Eagle and $650 Sig Sauer one. I hate buying optics that I can't see first hand, otherwise I would have just ordered something.

I have one of these on my other rifles. It’s pretty good in my opinion. I have a couple other semi autos and I prefer a red dot/ magnifier on them. You can hit a target pretty far away with a red dot. I can hit a target with no magnification at 100 yards. With magnification I can get decent groups.

I'll bring in the true budget option.

Grab a Vectoptics LPVO directly from  China.

1-6 for 240? 1-10 for 350

Or screw true 1x magnification and get a 1.5-6 for 170. Or screw zoom and get a 1-4 for 130.

I went cheap and got the 1-4. Decent enough  for me, though I wouldn't mind a bit more zoom than 4x. Still, it's better than the red dot I had on first.

Yup. I ordered a 1-6 direct a few years ago. Excellent value and really good clarity. I now wish I'd ordered 3 of them.

Dude vector optics is so underrated. I mean ya their glass is not top of notch kinda stuff but dollar to dollar it’s the best.

I'm hoping to import some good value scopes for our market soon, even less expensive than Vector Optics. We really don't have many options and Vortex is overpriced as shit IMO, you're really paying for that warranty.

Oh nice! Looking forward to that!!!!

I have a vortex strike eagle and it's good but I prefer an eotech with magnifier

Seen some videos in the past might have to take another gander!

Arken 1-8 has 34mm tube, costs less than 500$.

Build and glass quality are both great.

Vortex viper gen 2 if you have the money glass is top tier

Vortex Razor 1-10 is a beauty

2

u/lettelsnek 24d ago

“around $500ish” 😂😂

u/th3badwolf_1234 24d ago

I can't read it seems ` my bad!

vortex venom 1-6x

at $500 avoid the strike eagle and older model primary arms

I'd reccomend something from Primary arms. I have the vortex strike eagle 1-8 SFP and it's not the best thing really, the ACSS reticle with the chevron is superior to the vortex reticle, and 1/2 moa adjustment gradients with the vortex are pretty annoying when sighting in, i was never able to actually get my one rifle zeroed truly due to the 1/2 moa adjustment, alot of primary arms are 1/4 moa adjustments, and they're a bit cheaper so you can spend more money on a good and proper mount

if not a LPVO, the paragon x3 with its built in drop compensator for 223. smaller, tougher and ligher than a lpvo.

Did not expect so many answers! Have a lot of research to do on the ones you guys have brought up

u/Cope180-Enjoyer 24d ago

Anything over 700 bucks. Also get an ADM mount.

u/_MlCE_ 24d ago

Sig Tango MSR (comes with its own mount).

Also keep this in mind - the higher the magnification, the more Chromatic Aberrations you can get (purple color shifts or blurriness when looking through the lens).

So think twice bout whether or not you really need that 1-10x. You might find that you are getting diminishing returns over a 1-6x scope.

Physics levels the competition, and the great 1-10x scopes are over $1500-2000.

Burris 2-8 Fullfield. Just picked one up for my CZ-600 trail. It’s an awesomely good little piece of kit. Well matched to my little 7.62x39 carbine.

I picked up a Bushnell R5 1-6 w/ illuminated reticle for under 250. The thing I like is each brightness setting is separated by an off position. So if you want a mediumish brightness, you don't have to dial through a bunch of settings. Decent optic for the price.

u/Ashs_Hitbox13 24d ago

If youre doing mostly 100 yards but want magnification id do a red dot and magnifier honestly

My options with optics on-hand range from a variety of Red-Dots to ELCAN Spectre 1/4x and 1.5/6x, Vortex Mini Prism 5x, Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x SFP and FFP, Arken EP 1-8x, Minox 1-5x, and so forth. That said, if you can stomach the $2K cost, the Eotech Vudu 1-10x MPVO is a darned good choice for any carbine. It has a very forgiving eye-box and the colour, clarity and brightness are all top-notch all the way through the magnification range thanks to excellent glass and advanced coatings. I happen to have one that I have moved consecutively from an AR15 to a Bren 2, to a Lockhart Raven, then to a Crypto, and is now sitting on a Renegade awaiting the arrival of the Makasi. All so that I can keep chipping away at my stocks of .223 cal and 5.56 mm ammunition! Anyhow, that's what my Makasi is getting - an Eotech Vudu 1-10x MPVO.

Don’t listen to anyone else here but me! You want a uuq, cvlife or a NcStar/vism optic. They make the highest quality optics and are made in the UNITED STATES!

what you should do is buy a 1-4 or 1-6 power Lpvo style optic and piggyback a holographic vism sight on top of the scope. Even if you don’t have the mount for it, epoxy or some gorilla tape will do just fine. Holds zero like a champ! Even after 100 rounds.
