Hera H6 Accuracy Issues

Good day. I have tried different ammo brands and weights, but I am getting terrible accuracy out of this rifle. Two shots on top of each other, then a hit 4 or 5 inches away. Then it seems my point of impact changes to that flyer. I cleaned the rifle after and found what looks like steel shavings on the cleaning patch. I have put around 300 rounds through the barrel hopping it was just break in period, but no success. Any advice would be appreciated. All of the screws are tight as well.

That sounds like a potential scope issue. First check all your mounting screws on rings and mount to ensure nothing is moving.

If that doesn't work maybe a try different scope/mount combination.

It's because he's using a mount meant for AR-15s on a gun that is not an AR-15, and didn't want to buy a new one.

It's torqued to 18.7 lbs pounds, I was thinking it was the scope or mount as well. I will look into getting proper rings, but it is a situation of I already had it. It does line up nice though believe it or not.

I would change your one peice mount for either a pair of rings or a mount that that has 2 lock screws and a longer body. A longer body means less chance of it shifting. I would also make sure your mount lug is set back on the rail. Hope this helps.

Those look like copper shavings. Perfectly normal

My question is have you tried a different scope? What scope do you have on it? Is your scope mount or reciever screw torqued properly? Has anyone other than you shot it?

Which sucks because imo they look cool and would be a fun range toy but they are not practical in any real way

This has been my experience. I get a lot of commentary at the range though.

Try a different scope and if that doesn’t help then you are SOL

My thought as well, but everything is tight, will look into a new mount I think.

That mount looks like junk to me and it's a cheap scope... I'd start there.

Although the AR optic is a cheaper optic, for what you are doing its fine for now. Change your mount, and don't skimp. I would recommend Warren, Leupold or Vortex for a mount. You won't break the bank and they are good stable mounts.

What ammo are you using? I mean not just the brand but the bullet weight too. Did you mount the scope with proper torque amounts? What distance are you shooting (for 4-5" groupings)? Mine shoots well, not sub-MOA, obviously.

They trigger is about the only good thing ive seen about these. I spoke to a guy at the range a cpl years ago. I remember he said he couldn't find any ammo it liked.

I can literally feed rounds through the holes of other rounds with mine at my indoor 25 yard range. I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it outdoors at 100 yards yet. My scope was mounted by the gunsmith at the shop I bought it from though

I would sincerely hope you are making clover leaf groups at 22 meters lol, if you were getting anything more than half an inch groups at 22 meters then... well get ready for sks sized groups at 100 yards

How fast are you shooting yiur groups. These barrels arnt very thick so you might be overheating it. The handgaurds also arnt free floated so pressure changes on the should could be shifting poi. Overall just bot the most acurate gun

You need a new scope mount, there’s too much movement allowed on the one you currently have.

Scopes probably not your problem. It’s that chinesium looking mount. I’d suggest getting one from a reputable maker such as MDT first.

I heard that these rifles also had a lot of feeding issues. Are those at least fixed with the gen 2?
