Buy recommendations Scope mount recommendations

I'm looking for see through scope mount rings for my .223 bolt action with Picatinny rail system so I can mount my Bushnell scope but also use the iron sights for anything really close- under 25 yards. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Maybe a quick detach mount?

I didn't consider that. Thanks.

I’ve never used one, but that’s what I’m planning to get for the Ruger scout once i eventually pull the trigger on it lol

To expand on this: I use QD rings/mounts on all my rifles. Everything from fancy ADM mounts to budget UTG ones.

For intermediate calibers like .223, UTG's quick detach one-piece mounts are a great option. Mine have been good at maintaining zero and they're only like $125 on Amazon and come in a variety of heights. If you want to get fancy, I love ADM Recon mounts, but they start around double the price.

What the other guy said. QD rings like these (in the appropriate height/diameter for your scope, obviously) are a much better solution than trying to do a janky see-through setup. Unless you've got a wacky-high magnification optic on there, or the scope somehow breaks, you're never going to have to transition to iron sights.

I have several scout-style bolt guns with iron sights, and I love having them as a backup, but they really only make sense as a backup. Mounting your scope up really high just so you can see your irons isn't a good compromise.

Try offset iron sights.
