Misc Is this “Canadian safety course” a legitimate retail website?
I've been looking for some Monstrum optics (i know i know, I'm cheap) for my rf224. But barely see them on Canadian websites. This Canadian safety course has some listings, but I don't know if it is a trustworthy seller.

I ordered an "in stock" mount earlier in the year, they shipped it from their location in Nova Scotia in a timely fashion (couple of days), so it worked out for me.

I’ve ordered twice from them. First order 2/3 items shipped, and shipped quick. The third item took a little over a month to arrive. Second time I ordered the item arrived within the week. All items showed in stock when I placed the orders.

I made three orders with them. Two arrived in a week or two. One time they didnt ship it until a month or two later which kind of pissed me off but tthey explained the item was out of stock and they apologized and gave me a discount on my next item. I would say they're reputable. They also have a wide selection of items I could not find anywhere else

Avoid. A lot of items on the website are not in stock and have no ETA on when they will be available. They will take your money and will not send you your item for weeks and weeks. I ultimately had to demand a refund after months passed. I believe they may be legitimate (I'm not 100% sure) but I know I'm not the only one here who has had this type of experience.

I order through them all the time, I wouldn't listen to these people, they are just impatient.
You can order from the states, it takes forever and it may not even get through, a lot of stuff requires import paper work.
I use Canadian Safety source because they order stuff and save me the hassle, other wise your just waiting to see what comes in at stores or using services like Aztec (which is great still but slow) that only ship inventory every couple months.
People who bitch about wait times don't realize how expensive and difficult it is to get stuff like this in Canada, and how risky carrying an inventory of it is, especially for a lot of the selection that CSS is willing to bring in.
I have built a lot of guns, I have used this site many time, I have imported a ton a parts, and I can tell you that its a good business, the price are good and the wait time is only nad if your comparing to stores that have an existing inventory.

20 weeks and no response to emails is impatient? I won't order from them again.

I've ordered from them. Their clear that they drop ship. They also said not to use the credit card payment if i didn't want to pay right away. No problems from me.

Ordered from them twice before, and both orders arrived within a week. I placed my third order about a week ago, but it still hasn't even shipped. I emailed them to check if there was any issue with my order, but I haven't received a response yet.
I understand they're a drop shipper, and I was okay with that because my previous orders were processed and shipped relatively quickly. Unfortunately, my experience with this third order has been disappointing so far.

Some of their inventory is in stock, some of it is drop shipped and im pretty sure this is a side gig for whoever runs it.
Ive used this business for quite awhile for the convenience and price, speed is good usually if they have it in stock but I generally ordering assuming the site isn't up to date, but I have always got everything i ordered.

All of my items were listed as 5+ in stock, so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that information to be accurate. Otherwise, what's the point of showing inventory levels or marking items as "In Stock".
I do appreciate that they have one of the largest selections of firearm parts in Canada, even if some items genuinely marks as 3–4 weeks to arrive.
My biggest issue isn't the wait—it's the communication and expectation management. If they had simply replied and said, "Our inventory is out of sync" or "This item is actually backordered and will take longer," I would've adjusted my expectations accordingly.
Instead, my order has been sitting there with no updates, no response to my email for days, and the item is still shown as in stock. Based on other threads here, some people have been waiting weeks or even months without hearing anything.
I don't think it's the customer's responsibility to assume the inventory on the website isn't accurate. We can only base our expectations on the information the they provides, and what makes the situation worse is the complete lack of communication.

I ordered three items, all of which were listed as in stock. After a week of no movement on the order I emailed and was told only one of the three was in stock, one was on backorder, and the third (the primary big ticket item that motivated me to make the order) wasn't even made by the manufacturer anymore. Upon the request I was refunded promptly. Not the absolute worst experience but I don't browse the site anymore

I've ordered 2 items in one purchase. One was in stock and shipped in a reasonable amount of time. It's been almost 7 months and I'm still waiting on the other one. It said like 4-6 weeks which I deemed acceptable, but now I'm thinking about asking for a refund.

What did you order thar your waiting 7 months on? I would just import it at that point.

A low mount for the Holosun AEMS. It's actually pointless now, because I bought a new rifle that fits it with the normal mount.

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 28d ago
Oh, I swear my aems has a low mount with it when I bought it.
I bought unity mount, and then like a few weeks later I see the counterfeit ones on aliexpress lol. I was surprised they copied such a specific optic mount.

I purchased one item from them, not in stock. Took a bit of time but received the product as advertised.

Tried them a couple times. Some items came through no issues, but another item was listed as "in stock" on their website but never showed up with the other things I bought at the same time. When I asked, apparently it wasn't even in stock. That honestly left a bad taste in my mouth, especially considering everyone knows they're a drop shipper. They did process the refund when I asked them to, tho.

I have order monstrum from CSS
But wouldn't it just be easier to use Amazon?

They are a drop shipper. I’ve ordered once from them for an item “in stock” and I waited 4 months to receive the item with no communication or responses.
I left a negative review due to the lack of communication and he called me on my phone the same day regarding the review. That just left a bad impression on me afterwards, that they would immediately respond to negative feedback but ignore questions regarding the status of the order.

i order from them all the time, use the contact us link to email them and ask if your particular product is actually in canada or not and they'll tell u straight up if its coming in a week or a month. These guys are the only stable source for things like Monstrum unless u want to pay double from amazon or an import fee from someone like Aztech, IRG, or Prophet River.
Just know that they are drop shippers so you will need to wait, but i've never had an issue with them because I knew how they work and my intentions were clear. Able to get things like RPP furniture cheaper from anywhere else there too.

I just ordered from them today, they were very patient and honest with me.

u/whyisthishapi 28d ago
Did they answer your call or respond your email today?
2
u/itsmeAG32 28d ago
I called them three times and they answered my call three times I made a mistake with one of the items I purchased and they refunded the purchase and then I went and did some more research and found what I wanted and made the correct purchase and I know I sound crazy right now lol

u/whyisthishapi 28d ago
lol Thanks for sharing, they haven't responded my email for days, I will try to call them.

u/Senior_Mail4090 28d ago
Yes. Quick responsed. Seems to drop shit but came faster than what was told. Also was about 15% cheaper for all the RPP stuff I bought

u/3e_Design 28d ago
yes but they almost never have stock. if you are not in a rush and are willing to wait 6 weeks (average) they have better prices then other online stores.

u/Prudent-Moment6608 28d ago
Yes, I buy stuff from the time. Fun fact- They are the Monstrum importer for Canada.

u/Appropriate_Force_59 28d ago
I’ve ordered the monstrum lpvo and even tho it said instock it still took 4+ weeks to arrive. But it did arrive. Also their support is non existant

In Halifax with nothing to do, decided to go check out the store. It's some random apartment cul-de-sac complex with no storefront.
Drop shipper. Make of that what you will, left a bad taste for me

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 28d ago
They have inventory and they do drop shipping, but if they can get you something they have listed it will probably be easier and cheaper than trying to import it yourself.

I’ve had great luck with them.
Yes they are a drop shipper, yes they can have long lead times, but they are clear about that and they bring in many things no one else currently does.
I’ve had 10+ transactions, all within two weeks of the eta I was given
If you can get a certain product elsewhere in Canada do it, but if they’re the only ones don’t be afraid
