You dont have to make a collection over night. Its actually better to fully enjoy each firearm before getting another. It helps you learn what you like and dont like. It can also cause you to really appreciate your individual firearms for what makes them different. Either way welcome to the community. Hope you enjoy it!

I'll provide the flipside of this argument. Even with a low budget, you'd be surprised how active the resale market is. It's a good way to try different things. If you don't like something, just sell it.

. You won't really lose much/any money, as long as you don't go overboard on ammo and gun-specific accessories. I've seen guns appreciate in value quite rapidly, chances are you'll break even or make a small profit (assuming you got it for a good price to begin with).

. OP's first firearm being a Tikka was a quality choice, also helps with 22lr being the cheapest. I get what you're saying too though, nothing wrong with getting good on one or two guns for awhile.

Definitely this^* resale market is always busy and selling something in your collection is easy. Of the 4 I’ve sold I haven’t lost a dime. Sometimes patience is required - longest I held onto one was a .243 I thought no one would want, but after 4 months I sold it for exactly what I paid for it.

Guns appreciate in value? I guess it would depend on the wear and tear on them? I'm about to get my first, just got my PAL a few weeks ago and have had purchase paralysis so far..

There's no real rush to collect, and please dont buy a $1000 SKS.

One thing a new shooter should remember is... the price of ammo! All your first guns should be "cheap" to shoot. Also 30-06 class of ammo has killed every land animal on the planet. So don't feel the need to go big off the hop.

Personal recommendations would be; 22lr, 17 Hmr, 223, 9mm, 7.62x39, 6.5cm, 308, and old reliable 12ga.

Sadly they are still a better value than the Turkish semi autos... There is no great solutions in this country. I am sure at some point they will just change the laws. My guess... "all semi auto centerfire firearms are prohibited from accepting detachable magazines"

Best cause scenario, buy a TM22 Pro, a 6.5PRC precision class bolt action, and a semi auto shotgun. Find a range near you, because the feds are looking to ban us from the woods...

I got a mossberg 590a1, howa 1500 stainless in 308, Henry homesteader and cz 457 synthetic varmint. Looking at the sks but might pass just cause it's overpriced imo.

Excellent choices, you were much smarter with your cash then I was. With what you have now I would think a lever action would be more fun than an sks, 30-30 or 44mag.

New PAL holder here, I got one too, big reason being they have left-handed version and I shoot at an indoor range for the most part where it's either 22lr or 9mm carbine. Was so quick to zero and then it was super accurate. Now saving for a chassis with better ergonomics.
