I like the brown one

I like the white one

u/kookiemaster 28d ago

It sort of looks out of place. More white ones are required to even things out.

u/RolandDirlewanger 28d ago

Absolutely need more white ones but not just even it but I actually prefer that over all other colors and camo's so for me, my whole collection is white.

They asked bro what he wanted at the gun store and he said “yes”.

Lol. Seriously though how long did it take for you to get all that?

Dark days

u/Natural_Comparison21 28d ago

I didn’t live through the LGR. What was the overall mindset of Canadian gun owners back then compared to now? More or less nihilism?

Well, buying and selling was a huge pain in the ass so we didn't do it as often.

If you wanted to sell someone a gun, you'd need to

  • Call in, wait 30-45 mins on hold (hopefully you'd get through). Give them all your info and the info of the person who wants to buy the gun. They give you a reference number.
  • You give the reference number to the dude who wants to buy the gun.
  • That dude calls in, waits his 30-45 mins on hold, then gives reference number and confirms.

It was torture, so much wasted time.

u/Natural_Comparison21 28d ago

That’s brutal.

Why trigger locks?

1

u/Possible_Thing_9385 28d ago

Why not? Although not necessary by law within my Firearms Vault, Trigger Locks provide a final level of safety to prevent anyone from firing an action without my express permission to do so. Trigger locks can always be removed if the firearm is to be handled with manipulation of the action (under my supervision). I add the trigger locks as an extra layer of safety and security, just the same as I have a hard and fast rule against live ammunition in the open anywhere within my vault. I have inert practice rounds for firearms manipulation purposes.

Trigger Locks provide a final level of safety to prevent anyone from firing an action without my express permission to do so

Your vault has to stay locked when you're not using it so other people firing your actions when you don't want them to shouldn't be a problem unless you're inviting people in to handle firearms and they can't follow your basic instructions.

Why not have trigger locks on every gun in a vault? IDK, cost? I don't want to spend $1,000 on trigger locks and have to deal with locking/unlocking all the time to cover for a fringe safety concern. But that's just my opinion. I leave trigger locks on my competition pistols because I have to lock them up anyways when in transport.

Why is your black scary gun white?

5

u/eldaniay 29d ago

Non black guns receive non-restricted frt's upon import. they use the peter griffin color detector

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 28d ago

Too young for FALs

2

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 28d ago

What prohibiteds?

3

u/MLI691H 29d ago

No feet no care!

3

u/Alternative_Two475 28d ago

Sorry, but I no longer have feet to photograph. I lost both legs above the knee to a Taliban IED attack in Afghanistan back in 2008. I am now a permanent member of the wheelchair club.....

Never seen a neon green wall like this before lol

1

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 28d ago

I wanted the flexibility of using it as a green screen but as you can see, that's not going to happen.

1

u/Dill_Pickle_Tears 29d ago

What’s that white one? A prohib?

2

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 28d ago

Just smashing the buy button

1

u/No_Win_9797 29d ago

If my count is right, 46, how many different calibers are there ?!

2

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 28d ago

That count might be correct but this is just what's on the wall. 27 dif calibers. Lots of 22LR and 12ga

1

u/Hotdog_Broth 29d ago

Where SKS?

2

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 28d ago

Buried beneath some of the others.

1

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist 28d ago

I assume the gun room was a wise decision.

2

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 28d ago

The rate of gun acquiring went up once I had a whole room for them.

1

u/Bambam4040 28d ago

Looks cool but don’t see Andy trigger locks and no lock
On ammo

1

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 25d ago

When you went through your PAL course, did they talk about gun rooms/vaults?

1

u/Bambam4040 15d ago

No they did not but they did say ammo must be locked up separately from guns and all guns should have trigger locks

2

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 15d ago

I teach the course, I'm just curious how other instructors are covering this point. Broadly speaking:

Option 1: Non restricted guns must be disabled with a lock OR take the bolt out. Ammo must be separate for this option. ie: stick the gun under your bed with a trigger lock on it and keep the ammo separate or locked up = good to go.

Option 2: Guns can be in a case, safe, or secure gun room. Ammo can be with the guns (but not loaded in the guns) as the lock covers both. Restricted guns have to have a trigger lock if they're in a case, not if they're in a safe or gun room.

The legal wording on storage is confusing but the RCMP has a more clear description here.

1

u/Solitaire3006 28d ago

Safe storage?

1

u/thehuntinggearguy 3gun, Mapleseed, YouTuber, SlamFire Radio, Revolver-hater 25d ago

In your PAL course, what storage options did they review?

1

u/fishinguy44 27d ago

I always have wondered whoever keeps their firearms like this must have 0 concern about a house fire. It is a nice way to show off your guns instead of a fire proof safe though.

1

u/Wildlabman 24d ago

It's a start.

u/rastamasta45 29d ago

Oh dear god, someone call Nathalie, someone call her now, I’m so triggered by this oh my god 😭
