Feets / Collection / My build SCSA TaipanX 500 yards

Had a chance to stretch the taipan out to 500 yards today was a tad windy but for first time I’m happy the two holes in the plate are from previously with my .308 savage axis. the dents are all .223. I’m running a bushnell trophy 3-9x40. S&J nano linear comp

Does it not use a mil spec trigger? For $30 I was able to get a mil spec spring kit for my Troy SAR (which also comes as a pump action or straight pull), and dropped the pull weight from about 7lb to 3.5lb.

Strange they wouldn't use a mil spec on the taipan. They're nice looking rifles, I like that they can be converted between pump or straight pull, best of both worlds (for canada)

It has a special drop in trigger assembly but looking at it out of the rifle it would appear to have the same/similar hammer spring so I was thinking a guy could swap it out with something lighter as long as it doesn’t light strike

Some AR triggers also come as drop in packs, maybe it is a mil spec layout which would open up tons of options for you. The high end AR triggers are all self contained little packs that get dropped in like that
