How much does the 8in barrel recess in the 8in handguard ? I'm running a grey birch 5 inch but thinkin about switching to MI's

Not at all 2 screws for the for-end and the. The normal one bolt for the receiver

Very easy - 3 screws, one action screw, 2 for the front handguard.
