He walked upto an active shooting situation as if to complain about the noise.

If you've seen the footage you really can't blame the cop, the way that bystander was acting was inexplicable.

This is one of the craziest arguments I'm hearing online

People blaming the victim. You'd think that cops would be held to a higher standard and would have some modicum of firearm training

She manslaughtered an innocent person, I hope she gets punished to the full extent of the law

You don't think there's more than 1 victim here?

You'd think that cops would be held to a higher standard<

Why? Most shoot once a year and hate handling firearms.

would have some modicum of firearm training<

They do, they just don't have training on how to win gun fights like this. They get the basic safety run down on how not to kill themselves with their firearm.

Y'all need to think about how you would have handled that situation. We don't live in america where our cops get in gun fights every day. Most of our cops hate guns and don't want anything to do with them, just like the rest of the public. People don't become cops to be soldiers, just like the rest of the public, they dont give a shit about guns.

This was a highly abnormal and extreme situation that was turned into a tragedy with multiple victims. Don't run towards cops actively engaging in a gun battle with a suspect would be my advice.
