Legit wild how other subs are defending the officer for domeing a civilian saying things like “it’s easy for you, this was a stressful situation” and “how can it be a training issue, it’s just unfortunate”

I didn’t know that cops can now shoot civilians when shit gets real or crazy. So when swat kicks a door in they should shoot the hostage because the bad guy startled them. Training literally removes your nerves so you don’t do what that officer did. Absolute training failure and failure on the officer.

You have no clue what you are talking about.

Training helps but it wont turn you into a terminator with no emotions.

At what point are we allowed to talk about things, I was in the army, we trained on dealing with threats, target identification and most importantly PIT (Positively identify target). Training doesn’t make you a terminator but it provides a muscle memory on rapid responses and making sure you don’t commit the ultimate mistake….killing a civilian.

No cop will ever ever say “it’s okay if it get bad and you accidentally pop someone” no the they make it very clear. You shoot a civvie, you will be charged with murder. Your bullet, your responsibility. How do we prevent this, train so you don’t panic when it happens.

You’re not the one under fire btw. Must be easy for you to sit in the comfort of your chair and talk about what she should have done. But in her shoes she was unable to see the shooter and she saw someone when she turned around, if she waited and double check she would have been killed just like the first one.

Again I received military training, they shot at us with training bullets and one time by accident with real bullets (hell of a moment that was).

The purpose of training is that when shit gets real, we know how to act and not make the ultimate mistake. You can’t say to people “well you never got shot at so don’t speak” because in training we can’t actually shoot at each other, so all you can do is train and train and train until it finally happens (which we often pray it never does). This officer failed her training and should be charged accordingly.

You are saying mistakes should be inexcusable, yet you are also saying you had peers in the army that were so dumb and incompetent there was live ammo fired at you......

……it was inexcusable, we didn’t make excuses, people were punished. We had another incident where someone died, they were court marshalled immediately

But yet your chain of command made a series of mistakes that led to live ammo being fired at personel in a non operational setting without any actual stress... id wager to say most of the people you worked with would respond worse then this montreal municipal police officer.
