Yea this is looking like it could very easily be turned into a “The police fucked up at responding to this.” Which ngl they objectively did. They not only lost someone due to lack of proper training (atleast that’s my understanding.) but actively killing a civilian. Technically this struggles to be even defined as a mass shooting. As the shooter only killed one person. The other death was because of the cop.

The police fucked in Nova Scotia as well and that led to the OICs - even though they could have prevent it and illegal guns were used.

To be fair the OICs were brewing since 2019. They and Nova Scotia made a shit load of noise for being literally the deadliest mass shooting in Canadain history.

Technically this struggles to be even defined as a mass shooting. As the shooter only killed one person. The other death was because of the cop.

It's really struggling to be called a proper MCE as well.

Even if there had been more police officers responding, it would still quite the stretch of the definition with the inexperience of the shooter.

And don’t get me wrong I’m pro police and not one of this acab morons, but one think I remember in the military and from my family in the police, it doesn’t matter how bad a situation is, everything is on you, you kill a civilian, it’s on you, no excuses.

It doesn’t exactly help the case when shit like RCMP shooting up a firehall goes virtually unpunished. This somehow tops that. If the cop who did this doesn’t get hit with atleast a manslaughter charge then it’s going to hurt the case for police accountability even more.

It disappeared because there was no video footage, they buried it, this one is online and there is videos now circulating. They can’t bury this

Ignore the deleted comment my brain went on auto pilot for a second. Yea that’s true there was no video footage. This it’s clear as day. Which we now have to ask ourselves “If anybody else did this would they not be charged with manslaughter?” Which if the answer to that is yes then that should be enough for them to be charged

Oh, sweet summer child. PDs have murdered countless people in broad daylight on camera in this country and never faced penalties beyond being reshuffled to a different PD at a higher pay band. Harshest outcome I expect is that they settle with his family in civil court for wrongful death.
