Man, this is going to get real fucking weird real quick.

The word around French media right now, is that it was allegedly an Albertan resident that supposedly wrote a manifesto. That is going to muddy the discourse for sure if this is true.

RIP to the innocent man that was accidentally shot by the cops and to the officer who was killed as well.

Absolutely fucked up

SKS’s have been used in police shootings before no?

Hopefully the government remains reasonable (unlikely) or they they at least avoid banning due to the insanely difficult task of collection (more likely)

We can only hope, but given that an SKS was just used for such a crime, in Montreal, of all places ? We're not even close to being done hearing about it from Poly.

I can't imagine they're not already frothing at the mouth, writing a statement "proving" their point.

That one was nuts, no officers killed and both suspects dead. The ERT was like 6 blocks away at the time so the response was crazy fast

It’s also hard to know if the manifesto will ever come out as-is or if they’ve colluded in some unified message that benefits the anti-gun government. There’s just so many ways for this to go against us unfortunately, but one can always hope there’s some honest people in government with facts

We won’t know unless details about the manifesto are ever released, but a big sticking point with some separatists seems to be how unfair it is that Quebec gets the chance while they don’t. That could possibly be a reason.

I can't link pics of dead people in this thread (literally first thing you see in the pinned comment) but if you look up "mtl shooter" on twitter you will find pics of him dead.

Also, rhodesia (called Zimbabwe now btw) is viewed by white supremacists as an example of a successful ethnostate (lol), so they use iconography related to it as both a dog whistle to signal to each other and an "aesthetic" they see as representing them. The camo was used in the rhodesian bush war (which they lost btw lmao) so wearing it now is a symbolic way of showing you're taking up the cause again.

Though let's be honest, you didn't actually ask that question in good faith, you are just upset that the shooter isn't anyone that's useful for you to demonize.
